  • Posted to $11,000! Did I Get Gouged? Plus Very Inconvenient. on 21 Nov 2009

This is by far the highest price I've seen.I can understand the frustration it brings, but I've learned different ways around to adjust to living with invisalign.Unfortunately, I had to give up on sweet drinks because I don't always have an opportunity to brush my teeth during the day, but sometimes I drink my coffee with them on, but here is the trick: drink it just betweem warm and hot so you don't damage the plastic, if possible, skip on sugar, and rinse your mouth with couple of sips of water. And next time you use a restroom, take them out and rinse with water. Not recommended by doctors, but it didn't hurt me,hehe. Another suggestion: if you struggle with brushing your trays, use denture cleaning products. I use Polident 3 minute Antibacterial pills, all you need is to soak your trays fro couple min and rinse. They stay as clean as new. Good luck!

From my experience Invisalign always make top and bottom trays, otherwise you mess up your bite when you only wear top/bottom. So, it might not be your doctor's decision. The glue stain must be individual concept, depends on your enamel.I had no problem with mine. I had a wonderful experience with invisalign, my teeth came out to be straight and I had no issues throughout and after the treatment.

The standard price is 4,500.My insurance was able to lower it to 2,600.You should run everything through the insurance to get all possible discounts.

I have had soreness on my tongue and gum on the first aligner. I think it should go away as you progress in the treatment. Your mouth sensory receptors have to get used to having trays on your teeth. I haven't really experienced metally taste. My ortho told me not to worry about fillings or crowns, they shouldn't come off. Just make sure you brush your teeth often enough to prevent cavities which, in case of Invisalign, can occur more frequently due to saliva accumulating underneath the trays.

My orthodontist in located in Brooklyn. Tel : (718)256-0022.I picked him randomly from the list of my insurance, but he seems to be a good doctor.Unfortunately, I cannot give you a 100% review since I'm still going through the treatment and can't judge his proficiency to the fullest.
