Hello faith2ndchances,
Unfortunately things haven't changed. It's a mystery whether the outcome was influenced by the operator or biology. Some people apparently heal improperly and the collagen produced (scar tissue) isn't always modeled correctly and you end up with permanent surface texture issues (orange peel).
The texture is generally a combination of inflammation and bad scar tissue (tissue inferior to natural collagen). Although sometimes it's simply dermal inflammation. Fortunately it's too early for you to be concerned; especially considering you had Re:Pair. You could simply have dermal inflammation. I would stay clear of other skin resurfacing techniques until you are healed (6 months+) and maybe follow an anti-inflammatory diet. You should check out the iplandlaserdamage support forum for more information pertaining to proper healing regimens. I'm an active member of that community and I agree that it's important to communicate with others and share information. I hope you heal well!
I'm pretty sure my problem is simply burn scarring. I am using Retin-A and it doesn't seem to be causing pore issues nor does it seem like it's causing any further textural issues that many people complain of. I've done a course of Accutane four years ago. Accutane is a wonderful drug but I'm worried it would inhibit my skin's ability to heal these scars. I frequently moisturize and my skin doesn't appear to be dry at all; there's never flaking or any indications that dryness is relevant. Fraxel is quite a gamble in my opinion.

I'm trying to remove this thread for that I have been threatened with a lawsuit by the doctor who performed the procedure. I find this to be insane, but unfortunately if this thread isn't removed; I will be sued.
The PIH hasn't gone away. Still dealing with post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. I'm monitoring it and it doesn't seem to change much so I'm guessing maybe a year or two more before things look better. It takes time.
