Hi kimmyk2675, I agree that "touch up" lipo can and should be done under local but if you are saying any and all lipo procedures should only be done under local then I definitely do not agree. I have a handful of friends/family who have had lipo done on multiple area's of their body and they were most definitely put under. Too much lidocaine in your body is not safe and can actually kill you. As long as a board certified PS is doing the lipo in a surgical facility then I see nothing wrong with trusting them and their knowledge. I'm sure there are PS's that do it differently and have their own opinion on how it should be done depending on the amount of lipo that will be administered but recommending to never allow a PS to put someone under for lipo is a bit extreme. DR. Asare uses laser-assisted lipo which may be a better way to get lipo but not all certifed PS use that procedure and still have a safe outcome. Have you had lipo by Dr. Asare while under general? If so, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm feeling good but the lipo'd area is still sore and developed an avacado size bruise and hard swollen lump a week after. From the sound of it this is normal. I'm going to get laser light therapy today at my chiro office and every couple days thereafter until it is better and/or gone. I also started massaging the area for a few minutes at night (in bed) and in ther morning (in the shower). It's been really swollen this week so I started wearing my spanx garment allday long which helps. I didn't expect such a long process for such a small touch up. I'm doing whatever I can to get it healed fast since I leave for Mexico in a few weeks. I could post pics so you can see what I'm talking about, I'll think about that ;) Last night when I went to bed it was large and swollen and then this mroning it was a lot smaller so it gets worse throughout the day as I'm on my feet and active. I stopped working out and won't until I hit the 2 week mark next Monday. I may have overdone it a bit the first few days thinking it wasn't as big of a deal as I should have. I worked out 3 times which was stupid, stupid, stupid!!! I'm sounding a bit dramatic and want to be clear that this has in no way interfered with my life besides having to stop working out for 2 weeks. It was worht it....or should I say. it will be once its healed. Its just annoying having to wait weeks or even months for final results again and I'm just a bit frustrated right now but it will all be fine. I'll update again in 1 week.

Hello, My husband drove me because I took valium but if you did it without then you could probly drive. I was sore but I could have drove if I hadn't been on drugs. I only needed 3 days off work. I felt sore after but I was able to do my normal routine minus working out. You can walk but nothing else for 2 weeks. I am still sore where the lipo was done and have developed a nasty bruise but its nothing I've needed pain meds for. I only took them for 24 hours. No compression garment but was required although it wouldn't hurt. I wore a tight workout tanktop to keep it feeling tight and held in. I go back in 2 weeks for a checkup and to have the stitches removed I think??? They may be desolvable though. Either way I can't remove the steri strips until my check up but thats it. All in all its totally worth getting fixed and doesn't interfere with your life that much.

I had the dog ears and touch up lipo done yesterday morning. I will walk you through my experience. Arrived and asked for a valium, waited for about 20-30 minutes for the valium to kick in, Dr came in and numbed the left and right side of my incision as well as my lower side of my stomach. This part required breathing and focusing on something other than the constant needle pokes. They were unpleasant but over fairly quickly. I then was given another 20 minutes or so for the numbness to kick in. My PS started by cutting the left dog ear and removing it and then came the lipo. I believe he went in through the left side of my incision where my dog ear was, he suctioned back and forth while pinching my belly together at each section he would suction. He pulled out the wand and emtied it of the fat and then went back in a 2nd time going back and forth. It didn't really hurt as much as it felt really strange. There was pressure here and there but nothing to bad. The whole thing only took less than 10 minutes. He then sewed up my left incision and moved onto the right dog ear. There were only 2 spots during the entire procedure where I could feel a little bit of what he was doing so he would stop and immediately numb that area and then proceed. I was sent home with pain meds and slept on my couch in an upward postion last night. I took my pain meds every 4 hrs yesterday and stopped as of this morning. It is painful, especially the first day and requires a couple days off work but its nothing compared to my actual TT. The lipo area is the only area that is really sore. I just move slowly and rest. I will update again after I'm healed. I will also post "after" pics on my profile. It wasn't the most pleasant experience but from the looks of it my stomach where he did the touch up lipo looks better as does my dog ears or lack there of. My stomach does get swollen though kind of like after I had my TT but it definitely looks flatter.
