whew! glad that you found a way to get some help during your recovery. May I also suggest that you rent a hospital bed. I looked into it and found that it only costs $175.00 for a whole month and they will come and deliver and set up and then pick it up when you are done. Also you can buy or rent a walker. getting out of bed when you are all stitch up around your tummy will be painful and probably dangereous because we use our stomach muscles to do that. Having the bed will save you a lot of pain and keep your stitches from tearing inside of you. You will be bent over for a while, so a walker will assist you in getting around. Also, if no one has told you, (because no one told me when I had my breast reduction), stock up on stool softners and fiber pills, may be even an anema because your pain meds will constipate the heck out you. I am sure your PS will advice you, but just in case they forget..do not get constipated because you can not afford to strain at all with this type of surgery. It looks like I am going to have to waite for my TT because I have pending health issue that I need to talk to my gyno about. possibly bladder repair surgery..bummer, but I guess I can continue to work on losing weight and getting in better shape. Wishing you the Best!

Hello, Oh wow your kids are still very young! The twins are they identical. I'm a twin too! but we are not identical. Do they try and mother your 5 year old boy? Girls often assume that role. I am sure you will be able to get rid of the rest of the weight. Do you work out? if you do, sometimes doing something completely different than what your body is used will make a difference. I call it surprising your body. You can probably do the same thing with eating, do something different. Our bodies are smart, you have to outsmart it sometimes, by changing things up. But 15lbs for a 5'8" woman is not very noticable, right? And you will lose weight during recovery from sheer pain and drugs. I am only 5 2, so 15lbs will be more noticable on me than you. If you are not able to lose it, do not worry about it. the important thing is that you "maintain" what you have lost and be happy and healthy. My husband is always telling me how much he loves my curves. We as women are waaay too hard on ourselves. We literally put our bodies on the "alter: when we conceive. It is the ultimate sacrifice that most men would never want to tackle. So give yourself a break. Well I went to my ps today and I really like her a lot. She spent 2 1/2 hours with me. She examined me and we talked about health issues and the surgery etc. I have an issue among other issues and that is I will need Bladder Repair. I am going to see my gyno here pretty quick. She suggested that I waite till that is fixed first in the event that they have to cut through my abodomin. I had my bladder repaired along with a hysterectomy back in 1993 which was done vaginally, but apparantely it has collapsed again!! Bummer! She will do some lipo on my sides and a little on my back. My hips are very small so she did not want to do flank, because she thought it was going to make me too narrow and I will not have that curvature etc. I asked her about a breast lift and we decided that we will waite and do one thing at a time. She is very patient and smart and very conservative. I like the fact that she is not concerned about "money" as much as my health. I feel confident in her ability. So I am going to my Gyno and once surgery is scheduled for bladder repair I will have to waite at least six-twelve weeks to allow my body to recover before I put it through another surgery. I am bummed, but I know she is right. And I guess this will give me the chance to lose more weight. Thanks for clarifying about the implant exchange. I had no idea that their is a "warranty" on those things. When is your TT scheduled? Oh by the way, I will be renting a hospital bed. It costs $168 for one month and they come out to deliver and set up and then pick up when you want them to. I had two C Sections because both my babies were breach and I remember how painful it was to get out of bed, so I am planning on being more prepared this time.

Just have to calm ourselves..it's going to be okay. I suffer from fibromyalgia and I'm getting older (51) and I am a little worried about healing right and handling all the pain. But I guess it is normal to be anxious. Yeah getting the kids out from under your feet will be essential. Are the kids old enough to do basic things for themselves? My kids are grown and gone, just my dogs who I know will be wondering why they can't come up on the bed with me. My Beagle sleeps with me every night. I am so proud of you for losing all that weight. I absolutely know how hard that this. I lost 72 lbs 6 years ago, but I went through a tough patch in my life about 2 years ago and I gained 40 lbs back. I lost some of that already 25lbs, but have a little more to go, about 15lbs. I love to cook and bake and I am wanting not just a diet and temporary weight loss but a change in life style that I can live with. and if that means that I will be 20lbs above my "ideal" weight, then so be it. I just want to get rid of that ugly stomach that I have had to content with now for at least 10 years. So I am realistic..I am just praying for no complications. My appointment is tomorrow at 10 am. My Dr. consult for tummy tuck and lipo, will be for two and half hours, I am told. This Dr. is supposed to be very meticulous. I am so excited! What is an implant exchange? Is that just an implant? Will check in tomorrow!

yep! Ditto! I am rethinking the whole fall thing. I am thinking about just going ahead and have this surgery next month! This waiting thing is killing me..too much! The more I read, the more I get frightened! I just read today an article about fat redistribution and now their are studies showing that the fat can come back in other places of our body that we never had fat their prior to surgery!!! I guess we will have to try very hard to maintain our weight after surgery.

Hi SMS1978, Where in Sacramento is your Dr.? I did go see a Dr. in Folsom, Dr. Christa Clark, but I decided she was too far. I am closer to Modesto.
