I am 12 weeks PO, and I am having the exact same problem!!! I tried going back to my Insanity workout (while still listening to my body), and even though I felt able to do the workout, the swelling afterwards was completely discouraging! And you're right, the swelling is not gone by morning either! I finally decided a week and a half ago to give my body some more time and just focus on the diet part of it right now. It's really driving me crazy to see all of my muscle disappear, but it's only temporary, and I still look better with less toned arms if my swelling in my middle is not there! My weight is higher than it was at 6 wks PO, but it will be gone within a few weeks of working out again-- when my body is healed and ready! Give yourself a break and maybe stick with some long, leisurely walks so you're still burning calories, but not stressing your body out.
I am feeling the exact same way!! Maybe it's just the time we are at in the healing process? I have my doubts that much is going to change at this point, but my PS tells me the same thing that yours did: "It's still early." And in looking at others' pics on this site, there seems to be a bigger change around the 2 month mark. Just be patient and stay optimistic (I am saying to myself as I say it to you!) :)
Well, the good news is the Spanx are better than the binder at least! ;) Last night I decided to try wearing 2 layers of Spanx to bed and even though I had a horrible night's sleep because of it, I woke up and most of my swelling was gone! Feeling much better finally at week 4! Hope it goes fast for you- this recovery certainly is an adventure!
Thanks for the encouragement! I feel a little better this morning- I found a smaller size of spanx in my drawer last night that I had forgotten about and I think the extra compression helped. My PS said that soaking in a tub was a no-no at my last appt, but maybe it would be ok now that my scar is completely closed??? I'll have to ask him about that cause I think that would help, too.
