Thanks Megan. I think I read that you went through the same thing too. Isn't it such a buzzkill? I get light acne now and again but it's usually get a bump or two on occasion. My skin was on the oily side, and after a laser procedure exacerbated my oil production--I was getting more breakouts than usual. The Esthetician kept telling me that exfoliation would help my new broken out skin but it actually made it SO MUCH WORSE so that now I break out all over.

I am oily & acne-prone and had the same thing happen: broke out with painful, itchy cystic acne all over. It's really bad on one side of my face and I didnt associate it with the micro until i was reviewing pics i take of my skin (for laser procedure result comparisons)) and realized my face exploded really bad after microdermabrasion (I got free micro 6 weeks after the laser because my results were so bad) Its been 2 weeks since the micro & i had to resort to antibiotics for the first time in my life. My skins looks a mess! When did it calm down for you?

Hi, I am wondering if the severe, uncontrollable acne I am getting was exacerbated by microdermabrasion. My acne is similar to the acne you experienced. The last photo looks great! How did you achieve the healthy looking complexion? Please message me all the details! I am SO bummed out by my skin right now--UGH!

So sorry to hear your experience. I got Mixto fractional laser for post acne marks/scarring and it made no improvement. I think it is also a sham for young skin (I'm 33and still acne-prone) and should NOT be marketed to us. It actually aggravated my skin to make MORE oil and my skin is now out of control with the worst acne of my life. I'm trying to combat it w/spiro & doxy antibiotics. Sucks!

Hi Dre, thank you. there was NO CHANGE at all to the scarring. I did not have severe scarring to begin with but --it was mostly ruddy complexion with marks that I wanted to be 'peeled' away to reveal healthier looking skin. I was told the laser could do this and charged for 2 treatments when I only wanted one. Now they are telling me the 2nd one will make it all better but from all the horrible side effects this laser has given me--and for the life it has robbed me of--I do not feel at all comfortable subjecting my skin to it again. I have not had active acne in a very long time and never had Full blown face full of cysts or anything but I do pick hence leaving mild-moderate scarring. Well...now, my face is FULL of acne and they look and feel really painful and its so out of control. It seems like my face will be scarred so much worse now :( I am told my Dr was "very experienced" BUT someone in the clinic should have told me there was a chance of acne, scarring, and melasma worsening. All I heard and read were the raves.
