Hi, thanks so much for your posts. I had tummy tuck surgery last summer and had internal stitching to bring my abs back together. It went really well, but getting fit again has been a long haul. Just in the last few weeks I've been feeling huge on my upper abs and back, and I'm not sure whether it's for real or just perception, by contrast with my post-op tummy!
I've been starting to think about smart lipo, wondering if that would sort it, but reading your experience I think I will redouble my dieting efforts instead! I have the flat tummy I wanted, and that went really well, so I'll live with the rest! Thanks for sharing all the reality of your experience and I hope you're feeling better now.
Hey everyone - I just wanted to say a happy Christmas to all of us, our first one wearing the lovely clothes we never could before! I'm 5 months PO today - absolutely the most liberating thing I've ever done. Still mending - and a little swollen on and off, but sooooo happy about the whole experience.
Here's to a very happy and very flat 2013 for all of us!
Hx
Probably sensible - I've adapted mine, too, and taken face pics off. To be fair, I've just looked at the privacy info and it does say:
RealSelf is a public website. If you choose to post something, that information is out there publicly and no longer considered "personally identifiable information." A good example of this is your email address: We won't share it, but if you share it, it's no longer a secret (obviously).
Please note that any content posted by you onto the RealSelf Sites becomes published content and is not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Privacy Notice.
I guess I just hadn't figured out that my face pics would come up on a Google search next to the entire set of tummy tuck pics, making it very easy to see me in my underwear in various states of pre- and post-op undress. They don't immediately disappear when you delete them off your profile - mine took a couple of hours to go, but they don't come up on a search any more.
Hmm. Just realised from a comment on someone else's profile update that all photos on our profile pages can be found on google images. Obviously most of them are faceless, and most of us have nicknames which aren't necessarily guessable, but you might want to do a quick search and delete anything you're not happy with being out there... E.g. if I search on my nickname and 'tummy tuck' the whole set comes up - it's one thing to share with you guys, but another to share with the world at large. I know it's unlikely anyone would randomly come across it, but still! Hx
