Michele, a few things may have caused this. It is possible your technician put the electrode on your skin upside down. This may sometimes cause a minor burn or concentrate the reduction to a small area. Also it may have been from a dry spot (lump) in the clay mixture, which creates hotspots during the treatment. Lastly, sometimes the clay mixture can dry up during the last few minutes of the treatment and when this happens, the gauze layer can pull away from the skin creating an air pocket which also creates hotspots and more intense muscle contractions. I have not ever had a patient experience what you describe. Most patients complete a series of treatments without incedent and follow up with homecare products and are very happy with the results.
