RAD1920, of course everyone's experience is different. For me, with the help of my abdominal binder I was able to stand fairly straight for a few hours at a time (2-3 wks). At 3 weeks my shoulders were still hunched over and I was very dependent on my binder to support my core. I'd run errands and attend meetings for my business but by the end of a day I was worn out. I learned quickly to balance sitting, standing, and walking because too much of one could have a counter effect on my energy levels.

I would highly suggest taking that 4th week off and when you return to work make sure you have a high back chair or at least a stool that you can use while working on your client's hair. If you only have a stool chair the problem might be that eventually you feel pain in your mid back if you're night sitting up straight. It may seem like a lot to bring in that support for yourself especially if you're the only stylist using one but you have to take care of yourself.

    Good luck!

Mealegre I had the same two procedures and was up to a size G as well. I say having them done was one of the best decisions for that year. As far as pain goes you may want to try meditation. I like the ones on Oprah Radio their like 20 mins or more. I turn off the lights and listen with my IPad or laptop . You may want to try it in conjunction with pain meds or in the way some health professionals do, as alternative therapy. Hope you get those drains out. Happy Healing!

Hi Kimmy1 - of course everyone's experience is different. I had a tummy tuck and breast reduction and at about 6 weeks I started weighing myself again. I had about an 8 - 10lb weight loss altogether. Don't quote me on that either because I really did not track my progress the way some people do on here. My clothes fit fairly the same as well but since having my breast reduction my button down shirts fit better. Also since the tummy tuck I do not look like the Michelin Man with the rolls of fat around the mid-section. I've decided not to focus on the scale but to focus on how I wear my confidence, my clothes, and how if the procedures allowed me to reassess and make some changes around how I was caring for the gift I have been given - my body. Surgery is a traumatic experience for the body and it is at that time (at least for some) that you are more aware of what you put into your body and so it is a chance to make real changes to your diet and exercise program. So to answer your question, I go between my old size and my new size based on the designer and fit of the brand. I find at least sometimes that if I want a smaller size I have to spend more money on the clothes...kidding. Good luck and I hope you're happy with your results!

Hi luv041 I hear you, recovery is certainly not easy breezy for everyone. I hope you're filling your day with things that bring you joy. I hope you go on your vacation and laugh a whole lot. You'll probably get tired very easy and that's OK listen to your body and chill when it tells you to. I hated wearing the binders but they helped me stand up straight. I can't stand Spanx because they constantly roll down and did not provide back support. So again for some people fatigue is normal, sadness comes and goes so it's helpful to balance those things with happiness. Hope you have a blast! Good luck.
