You'll do great! It's really all up to how well and how much your surgeon cares. You'll be fine as long as you've done all your research which I'm sure you've done! I chose my surgeon also because of his technique on sutures among numerous other reasons. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi Desiree1971! Thanks for visiting my page. To answer your question, I didn't try to lose weight before my surgery. After my consult I was able to get a date 3 weeks or so after. I was 175lbs (my heaviest) and after surgery I was around 160 lbs. I didn't do this for weight loss so losing that much right after was a bonus for me. I'm currently at 153lbs and steadily going down ever since I've been cleared to workout at about 3 months post op. Before surgery I could squeeze into a size 12 pants if I'm lucky and now those jeans are falling off! I can wear a size 7/8 comfortably. Because of my height my goal by next year is to weigh 130lbs. Just keep in mind th is not for weight loss. It does give you the motivation and the confidence to workout more if you need to. I did this because I was tired of having to hide my stomach with sweaters etc every time I left the house. I had a normal stomach before my c-section a few years ago and now I'm glad I have my old stomach back! Good luck to you and feel free to ask me any more questions you might have! Take care!
