You will be fine.. just hang in there remember to be pateint with yourself.. you will have a few blue days but for me it was so worth it. The one thing I highly recommend is a lift chair (a recliner that also lifts you to standing) I rented one for 40 a week and it was a life saver.. I slept in it and it made life so much easier. Best of luck to you!
Thank you so much. I was so scared! But it was worth it even with the seroma etc.. I love my B.B he did a great job. I did ask for a low scar but it was also a necessity because of the c-Sections they have to go below that. Plus I laughed with him about it before hand.. I was very good friends with my OBGYN who delivered my babies and my scar from that surgery was very very thin and fine...so I told Dr. Decherdt..hey look at that guys work..you think you can do as well? lol. He was a great sport and a fantastic Dr. I dont know many surgeons that would open the office early to treat an out of town patient! Best of luck to you and remember.. yes you will have a scar but a scar on a flat stomach sure beats what I had going on before! :)
I live in a very small town and I know quite a lot of people here while I dont "really" care what they think I do. I choose a PS an hour away.. this was great and daunting. I love the ps I chose I think he did a wonderful job. However I did like 10% of the people that have this surgery develop a seroma. (lucky me) This was handeled with antibotics and weekly trips to the doctor to drain it. That being said the 2 hr round trip weekly was not always the easiest to schedule. I love the results he did a fantastic job ive been an athlete all my life and never felt like one because of a giant mess of belly hanging around...no more :) best of luck to you!
hang in there I had my drains 23 days. My PS didnt want to pull them out but then decided he was worried about infection if they stayed in longer we both knew I would probably get a seroma because my body was not done draining yet even if I wanted it to be. That is exactly what happened. It does not hurt but I had to go to his office and be drained manually ( needle) every week for 5 weeks. Hang in there it does get better Im nine weeks now and my seroma is gone.
Be easy on yourself :) It takes time.. Im nine weeks and just now seeing results. "They" say the swelling takes almost three months to lessen. As far as a "diet goes" it really is.. calories in vs calories burned. The best method of fat loss is also the easiest.. watch what you eat log every single calorie, every single day and for starters just walk. Consistancey is the KEY :) Most importantly take time to be thankful for your life you have a healthy body.. no disease, no illness, it works, it supports you..give it some credit and some love :) take some time to heal
