You SHOULD totally do one. In fact, I wish someone would do a news story on it. I went to a day spa this weekend and felt like everyone was looking at the weird stains on my legs. I wanted to walk up to them and explain. Lol.
I'm starting to believe it's a trade off. Cellulite versus Hemo Staining. Which to hate more? At this point, I hated the cellulite more so I am reluctantly dealing with the staining. It's the best of the two evils.
I know the doctors are telling their patients about the hemo staining now... to warn them of it...but it SUCKS that for those of us who didn't know beforehand. Feels like it's permanent.
Since I'm the resident veteran of this thread (lol) I will keep posting pics so you can see my "progress"... I have to be honest, it DOES look like the stained area is shrinking; it's just taking so LONG. : |
Hang in there.
In contrast, my "butt" /backs of thighs has had significant improvement. (See above) That I AM so happy about : )
Thanks : ) It's still not ideal, you know... but it is GRADUALLY getting better. The discoloration bugs me BAD but I've had pretty decent results I think.
Especially the butt and backs of the thighs (recent pictures above). I think my doctor is amazing with regards to the butt sculpting job he did. Lol. I sure was a wreck in my before picture!
I can totally relate to this....! From what I understand the discoloration is called Hemosiderin Staining, which is a molecular byproduct of blood cells breaking down and can "stain" nearby tissues. It may linger after bruising, especially in a person with lighter skin, but it is not permanent.
Because of the randomly dispersed discoloration, it makes my legs look like shadows like small little hills and valleys, which can also look like cellulite, so it tends to look worse than it really is. What I've been doing is applying leg makeup (yes, they make that! And it's called Airbrush Legs). If you google it, you can get more information, I think I bought it at Walgreen's. It helps the appearance of my legs a lot.
It is taking a long time for the discoloration to subside, but in the mean time try the makeup. As for the spider veins, I wonder if your doctor could help you with that by using a laser called sclerotherapy. I have some spider veins now too, but I don't worry too much about it because I don't expect to have perfect legs, you know? It is bothersome that the spider veins may have been a side effect of the cellulaze and I wasn't quite prepared for that but even if I knew beforehand that it was a side effect, would that have stopped me from getting cellulaze? I don't think it would have stopped me; I would trade the results I have received from cellulaze for the spider veins.
Hang in there...I know this is frustrating but hopefully after 6 months it will be better for you. Good luck with everything : )
