    just some IV sedation, valium. I had it done the first time 25 years ago for acne scars by a derm who specialized in it, who gave me only IM demerol and it was painful! I have to pay an extra $250 for anesthesiologist for 2 hours. Would rather not have the pain.

    I did not use any makeup or cover, just wore large sunglasses. When the skin is raw and trying to heal,protect it with something like Topricin or Catrix and just cover up.

    The one doctor who was a genius with the phenol peel retired years ago, Dr. Samuel Mandel. I had a peel done by him for acne scars at age 32 , 25 years ago, and the results were amazing. I tried to get my eyes redone recently, and did not get good results. Will probably go to the cosmetic surgery center in Worcester Mass with a friend. Lasers give only modest results and keep needing repeat treatments, don't waste your money.

    good luck. A derm who retired years ago, Dr. Samuel Mandel, gave me a great whole face result for acne scars 25 years ago. He turned over the practice to his son, Mitchell. I went there Friday to have my upper eyelids and periorbital areas redone, and one day later, I can say I got a NOTHING result for $2500. The expert who lectures on phenol peels is in Oregon, I think there is another good one in Washington State, also a couple in Florida. None around here. I am a physician and would know.
