Hi there, welcome to the flat side. I will be 4 weeks PO on Monday. It WILL get better.....mine is still swollen, and tender especially at the end of the day, but i have seen it get a little better each week. I had 3 drains in, and my dr said that not all PS do 3 drains, some will only do 2. But I I saw my dr this past Tuesday and he said its normal for it to be swollen, everyone heals differently. And honestly, I probably swell a bit more because well, I can't sit still and probably didn't take it as easy as I should have (i was the dumb one who went back to work after 6 days). My dr told me every month it will get better, and by month 3-6 you'll look just as fab as what you saw on u tube. Relax, you're 2 weeks in!! I have good and bad puffy days, just depends on how much water I drink, salt intake, do too much, etc. you may have those days too....but I'm sure you are looking great!! :)
I had that too. I tried propping up pillows under my knees and back of each thigh just to take pressure off tail bone. I also literally sat on a gel ice pack...which helped to numb the pain a bit. Good luck, thisis the hard part, I'm 3 weeks PO and still sore and sleeping on my back for the most part. Oh, I totally went through the no appetite ring too....great for weight loss, but I found out it was my pain pills that were causing that!!!!
I completely agree.....milk of mag was far more effective than the other stuff. My dr told me or every pain pill you take, it slows down the BM process by 1-2 days. I'm 3 weeks post and still having problems with regularity.
I slept in our recliner for 3 days, pillows behind and on under arms. Ice pack on tummy. Stay on top of your meds, but definitely talk to your dr about the the breathing. I also suffered from being completely light headed at times....especially when I was standing up doing a spong bath. It did pass after a couple days, but was scary. Hope you start feeling better soon!!
Awww, thanks for the encouragement! At week 3 and starting to get energy back! I'm really swollen today after all the weekend festivities ( what was I thinking????). Hope you had a great weekend, and I bet you look just fabulous!!!!
