  • Posted to Any BBL'ers post op 6months, 1 year or more? Has your butt remained the same? on 3 May 2012
am 2 years & 2 months post op.;had BBL in Feb. 2010, 750 ml on each side. When I scheduled my surgery, I was told to gain 10 lbs., so I was supposed to weigh 145 lbs. at surgery, only managed to gain 2 lbs. the month between schedule date and surgery, so on day of surgery I weighed 136, (I'm 5'6"), hence the 15 lipo spots- the Dr. had to look for fat to extract all over the place. Within the last six months or so the lipo scars have faded significantly - I really have to look for them to see them. In retrospect, I wish I had tried a lot harder to gain those 10 needed lbs. I was lipoed on the side of my knees, abdomen, flanks, back, & thighs. On the thighs alone the Dr. harvested fat in three different places from each legs. I assume a significant amount of fat was found in my upper inner thighs, because post surgery & swelling, the skin around that area was loose and saggy, and it hadn't been like that pre-op.
A little more than a year ago I was prescribed a med (Mirtazapine) to help me sleep & the main side effect/complaint about it is weight gain. The weight gain is not from water retention or anything like that; it's because your appetite goes through the roof & all you want to do is eat, and eat I did! I wish I'd been prescribed that med while I was trying to gain the 10 lbs the Dr. had suggested...After being on that med for a few months, yes, I was sleeping like the proverbial baby, but I'd also gained 25 lbs. The added weight was distributed all over my body somewhat proportionally, but I must add that with the weight gain also came lumps where I'd been lipoed, not a pretty sight. The lumps were especially noticeable on my lower inner left thigh & right side of my abdomen. As for the butt? It grew accordingly, but the concensus among my peeps was that it was beginning to look TOO big & it was time for me to do something about it. Fast forward to now- I am at about five lbs. below what I weighed the day of surgery, 'yeepee', some may say; not so fast... In reality this latest weight loss has resulted in a significant decrease in booty size. I don't know if the shrinkage happened because I weigh 5 lbs. less than pre & post op or because of the passage of time & gravity is taking its toll.I tend to not think that my butt remained swollen for an entire year post op & hope that isn't the case. Regardless, my goal now is to gain 10 lbs. & somehow command that all 10 lbs. go to my butt only. I wish! Not surprisingly, all the lipo lumps went away when I lost the 25 lbs. & so that's something I have to take into consideration also as I gain those 10 lbs. Ive never thought of it this way, but there is a lot of tit for tat involved with this surgery! Weight gain = big booty but lipo lumps, no loose skin on inner thighs, lose weight =droopier butt but no lumps...I'm compromising & shooting for 10 more lbs while committing to a serious, consistent exercise regimen. Doing squats and lunges on a regular basis can only result in a rounder, perkier, more lifted behind, right?
