I was so weirded out over the numbness especially my belly button, numb doesn't quite describe it. In fact when I went for a PO appt the PS would repack it it and the feeling would make me so queasy I thought I was going to pass out. I had to take a valium whenever I went to see him after that. It's better now at 7 weeks PO but I still don't like the numbness. My PS would put my binder on too tight and it made me hurt really bad so I would loosen it and it was so much better. Some PSs don't even use binders so if it's a little more loose I don't think it would make a difference.
My PS used the quilting sutures also. I am so glad cuz I would hate to have drains. It really makes a difference with swelling.
When I said "I only had lipo on my stomach and love handles" I meant to add maybe thats why I didn't need a cg. I type slow and my brain goes faster than my fingers. I hope it didn't sound bad.
ImaSummerGirl, I never got a cg my PS said I could get something like spanx if I really felt the need. But everything was just too tight. I feel a little discomfort throughout the day but its minimal and I know It's just going to get better each day. I only had lipo on the stomach and love handles, its my muscle repair that hurts the most. I'm able to sleep on my sides more and more, finally. I hate sleeping on my back, its been almost 7 weeks.
Kathy, I had my surgery the same time as you and I was very insecure without my binder. At 3 weeks PO my told me I could stop wearing it but because of being insecure I didn't stop. When I went back at 5 1/2 weeks I went without it cuz I didn't want him to know I was still wearing it. Afterwards I decided I to not wear it for a while to see how it would feel and sure enough within a few hours I felt better. I realized the binder was actually keeping me from feeling better. I haven't worn it since and feel great.
