Hi "SexySue" (liking the name). So I just got back from my PS office for my bb revision. I only got a glance at it after he finished, and from what I saw, it looked better, definitely smaller. It is all taped up right now, so I'll give you a more detailed report once I am able to do a full inspection. He agreed it was not a hernia. He said, that I had a "longer stalk" than most, and it wasn't cut short enough. He said usually he cuts them, and they shrink a bit during postop timeframe, but mine is longer, so this did not happen as planned. The procedure itself was a cinch. Numbed it up with lidocaine and epi, which I didnt' feel because I'm still numb in that area from surgery anyway. All I felt was a bunch of pulling. Kind of weird because I could feel the pulling inside my belly. Took less than 20 minutes for sure. He stitched it up with dissolvable stitches, and said I can snip them myself next week or come in and they would do it. I also brought up my flanks again. He again stressed that it really was just skin, and a small bit of fat. He stressed that you don't want to take out too much fat because that will look wrong too. He said the only way to fix it is to actually do a butt lift to cut out excess skin (like they do on the tummy in tummy tucks). That would leave a big scar, and I'm not interested in that. He also agreed no exercise specifically would help it either. I felt better knowing that it is skin, and that's that. Feeling pretty good about things right now.
Hi NewSue,
Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I was again rescheduled to later next week, so we'll see if this in-office "quick revision" does anything good or not. If this is the worst of my problems, then I figure I'm doing ok though. My biggest complaint is the flank fat that I feel I still have despite him doing lipo back there. I really wanted to have NO MUFFIN TOP anymore, and it saddens me to have him say "that's just your body." I still don't know what that means. When I go back in for my bb revision, I'm going to ask him in a different way so that he doesn't think I'm implying he needs to fix it for free. I honestly want to know if he thinks something can be done about it. I know I've had like a zillions kids, and was good and stretched out despite only weighing 120lbs at 5'4.5" goign into surgery, but I was hoping a tt with lipo would fix it. Maybe my expectations were too high?
I bought my online thru Amazon, just google silicone strips or scar strips. Mine are cut just for tt size. I couldn't find any that were big enough in any of the local stores. I asked my ps about them, and he def recommended them starting like 5 days postop, although it seems the start time recommendations vary greatly among ps's. Anyway, mine recommended the clear ones and so far it seems to be working/adhering just fine.
momwboys, thanks for the compliment and good luck to you on your upcoming surgery. Yep, in retrospect, I wouldn't have bought the Arnica or Bromelein, as I really don't think it helped, but I know some people on this board swear by it. The strips are expensive, so I'd def choose those over the vitamins.
