Oh, and I did get inner and outer thighs done and found that they bothered me the least out of all the areas...but that's just me! I thought that the abdomen area was the worst...it was very painful for almost two straight weeks and only in the last few weeks has it stopped hurting completely.

I had the same issue with the second stage garments...ordered XL and it only fit tight for a few days and ended up having to order a L (2 of them) and that's what I wear when I want to look smooth underneath...it sure is hard during the summertime though but I love the fact that I finally have some great body shapers, they make a huge difference under dresses and skirts!! I actually ordered a waist high/mid-thigh shaper for my wedding dress, its the Assets by Sarah Blakely brand (the same maker of Spanx) and I agree that they are not as tight as the brand recommended by the office...but it works well enough for the dress and I can use it when I need something strapless, unlike the ones I bought after surgery.

I just want you all to know that it will get exponentially better...each day you will feel less pain, less hard areas, less burning/stretching areas, and you will see less inches all around. Have you noticed that we all had different areas that bothered us most? That just shows how different each of us heals...and likewise, our results will be individual as well :) I will post some wedding pics when I get back so you can really see how worth it this was for me!!

July 5th woohoo!! I was able to buy a size 16 off the rack from David's Bridal, no alterations needed! When I first tried the dress on 2 months before the surgery, I was told I had to order a size 18W (special order that takes 3 months!!), so it made a huge difference :) Once we get back from the wedding and honeymoon, my new husband and I have set a goal to get serious about losing weight and have already decided to enroll in some bikram yoga classes to get started...we both really want to start our new lives together on the right track and get healthy.

You ladies are both on the right track...stop expecting anything to "look" different for at least 3-4 weeks...the swelling will make you look bigger than you really are, that's just the way it works. You didn't waste your money, especially if you are a larger person...you will see more dramatic results than a smaller person, especially when it comes to overall shape. And taking pictures is a great idea! Sometimes when I question myself about whether or not it was worth it, I got dig out my preop pictures, stand naked in front of a mirror with them and I can see with my own eyes that I look dramatically different and I haven't even lost any weight since then (school and wedding planning!). The name of the game is patience, seriously! And you may find that the clothes you wore before the surgery just fit better now and eventually you will be down those dress sizes but not right away. I went from a size 20-22 down to a 16, sometimes even a 14 depending on the manufacturer...so it will happen, you just have to give it time and give yourself a break!!! How many people do you know who are 5'3" and weight 195lbs that can fit into a 14 huh? The normal person can't but I can because my body is shaped differently now,

I can't wait to see your post-op pictures! You should expect to swell back up to where you started or even more, that happens to most people...I would predict that you will have the majority of the swelling disappear within a month or so...don't forget the average rule that you see about 70-80% of your results by 2 months and 100% of results by 6 months...you have a ways to go before you start to see real results but keep your chin up and know that it WILL happen, that fat is gone for good and the swelling will decrease...your body is just healing itself so be patient and give it what it needs to do its job :)
