I had the same experience. However, the tingling never stopped. It still occurs almost daily and it has been over one year. I had no hot flushes with curva and took it a week prior to starting. I discontinued curva when I discontinued Zerona but the tingling continues. It developed into flu-like symptoms and eventually chronic lymphedema that has become very severe. Yes Zerona works. I lost many inches. So I agree that the tingling may be a sign it is working well. But you may be in danger.
Just for Zerona- I had several treatments over a 3 month period. I lost 12 inches in the first 6 sessions. Was a size 6 pettite at that point. Laser caused tingling. Now tingling occurs before and during every episode of swelling.
Dear Stan 1958. Several specialists now disagree with you. The treatments caused an endless loop of capillary leak syndrome preceded by tingling. It is followed by massive angio edema and eventual lymphedema. I lost 12 inches in 6 treatments. At that point I was a size 6 pettite (equal to a 4 in regular sizes). I continued multiple treatments over a 3 month span until eventually the flu like symptoms and fevers (which have been reported by other Zerona patients) made me so ill that I had to discontinue treatments. Originally I did not connect the recurrent swelling with Zerona. However all episodes were preceded by the same tingling that occurred with every Zerona treatment. One should never assume that a product is not the cause. Many many medical companies have ignored and made assumptions only to eventually be very sorry. The first rule of post market surveillance is to NEVER assume. I have had extensive work-up at the Mayo Clinic who find the relationship to Zerona highly suspicious. Though my inch loss is in the minority it also appears my complications are as well. I believe additional patients will eventually report the same or similar reaction. Others have reported fevers and flu like symptoms following each session, some of which required treatment with antibiotics. My reaction is believed to be related to the temporary but recurrent separation of capillary endothelial cells allowing release of plasma (preceeded by tingling). This massive abdominal and upper thigh swelling puts a burden on my lymphatic system. The first onset of tingling was during my very first treatment. I was told by the Zerona staff that the tingling must have been because it was working so well for me (due to my record breaking inch loss). The connection to Zerona is highly suspect. Erchonia has never returned my call or emails. My physicians urged me to report this to the FDA as a serious injury, which I did report several months ago.
I have not sued. However, I am urging the company to investigate this serious adverse event. There is no reason for me to join a class action suit related to false claims of fat loss. My fat loss was dramatic. As a matter of fact, it was the highest amount of inches lost by any patient in that clinic. I will not sue a physician or clinic. Their application of the device was per standard protocol.
Dear Dr. Steinsaspire- I have experienced a serious injury as well as amazing cosmetic results (initially). From what I read here, there are a range of results. I believe there are a rang of complications as well. I received a great deal of both. My lymphatic system may never recover.
