Dear Mr. Hughes, is it correct that the scar will be less visible if the cut is made more to the backside, (between the antihelix and the helix) so that it is not visible from up front? This is possible right? Also, how ''easy'' is it to cut a piece away from the antihelix cartilage? Do doctors generally have equipment for that? Is it something '' totally new/different'' in the ear (plastic) surgery world?
Dude, it will look like you dont even have any ears if you correct that portion too. Our ears already look very flat to your head. Moreover, the upper portion that sticks out is indeed because of overcorrection of the middle part. However, if you would ''flatten'' the upper part too, it would probably look very unnatural. But if you can simulate it with your hands and if you think that it is much prettier if upper portion is flat too, then there is nothing left for us to say. It is idneed possible to realize that. But when I look at the pictures, I don even see the slightes space between your ear and head. Do you really want to emphasize that?
Get it fixed while it is still ''fresh''. Do not listen to stupid comments of your doctor saying: ''wait untill it looks more natural, over time it will''. You should be able to see a significant imporovement even right after the procedure! If you are not happy with it, get it fixed as soon as possible, before the scar tissue make is more difficult.
I am not a doctor but could it be an infection or a problem with the blood supply? In any case, I think its best to see a doctor very soon (not necesarily the doctor who performed surgery on you)! The problem might be easily solved, I don't know- but you have to get it checked out!
