I personally think the more active you are before the tummy tuck the faster the recovery time. I can,t wait for all the swelling to go away and have a perfectly flat stomach. I will more pics at my post-op visit this week.
The swelling will start going down but as dancegurl says the more you are up and around, at least initially, the more swelling you might have in the evening. I am almost 5 weeks post-op and feel great. I am back to doing all my regular things including weight-lifting, ab exercises, and playing softball although I haveI more swelling the more active I am. it will get better with time. keep me updated on your progress.
As dance girl said it is definitely a personal decision. I think if my surgeon hadn't been so good about answering my questions before and after surgery the second thoughts would have driven me crazy. Ask yourself who you are doing it for. It should definitely be your decision and your decision only.
Post-op went very well. Drain came out Monday at appt. I was almost ready to pull it out myself just like you. Have to wear binder for 1 more day. Went and did 30 min of cardio then weight trained. I have a trainer that I go to, he's great. although I am limited to lifting no more than 15 lbs but can do any lifting that doesn't involve using your core for about a week and a half more then can go back to all the regular things I was used to. My plastic surgeon recommended massaging the scar twice a day with any type of lotion and using mederma. Right now still some swelling, scar feels hard, does yours? did your plastic surgeon tell you how much skin he removed. Mine said he removed about 4 inch by 8 inches of extra skin. Let me know how yoga goes.
