I am 53 and married to my first love. I was 17 and he was 19 when we met and we got married after we graduated from college. Young love really can last!

I respect you for wanting your husband to be on board with your decision. I would recommend that you continue the conversation with your husband. Get some magazines or catalogs that show women in workout clothes or swimsuits. Perhaps you could use the Athleta catalog (a GAP owned company) and look through it with your husband and cut out pictures of women that are the size you desire for yourself. That way he sees exactly the look you desire for yourself. Ask him if he would be willing to just go to a couple of consults with you to a plastic surgery appointment and make sure he knows that you value his opinion. I think it is important for him to know 1. this is important to you in order to feel feminine and complete (or however you would describe your feelings) and 2. it is important that the two of you be in agreement before you go through with it. Tell him that you realize it may take him some time to process this since you have had it on your mind for a lot longer than he has and just ask him to let you know when he is ready to let you do this. I think if he feels like he has a choice he will more likely be supportive.

I know I am responding to an old post but I will answer anyway because it was something that was of major consideration for me and prevented me from having the surgery for years. My BA was over 9 months ago. I have numbness on my left breast and diminished sensation on my right breast. When I first considered having a BA, eight years before my actual surgery, this was the very reason I decided against it, and now I am dealing with numbness. Even though I have experienced the numbness, I am still happy I had it done. I regret the sexual pleasure that I was able to experience prior to my BA, but my new self confidence more than makes up for it, in the bedroom and out!

I am 5'5" and weigh 110. I have a narrow rib cage and small waist. I had almost no breast tissue. I have 350 ccs (silicone) and I am now a C cup. I almost always fit into a 32 C bra or a 30 D. A 30 D is hard to find so I wear almost all 32 Cs. Show your PS pictures of what you hope to look like by using pictures from websites of BA before and after shots of women who look similar to you now and have the size you desire. I also used pictures from the Athleta catalog which is a GAP owned company that sells workout clothing and swim suits. The women are not stick thin, they are normal sized women. My PS used those pictures during surgery to determine what size implants would give me the look I wanted. He ended up using the largest implants he could fit in me. If someone would have told me that I would fit into a 30 D, I would have thought that was going to be too big on me but I feel perfectly proportioned now. I am glad I trusted my PS. If I had made the decision on my own I would have ended up smaller than I wanted to be.
