Go to an aesthetics and get on Obagi Nu Derm system. That's what I had to do when I got burned and my face hyperpigmented worse. It will go away and Obagi is a great system for your skin condition. Also get some C serum and Nia complex. I wish I had done this in the first place. My skin has done so well, I don't even wear makeup much anymore, and I've been faithfully been using foundation for many, many years. Hope this helps you out. I know it is getting expensive, but it shouldn't be more than 300.00 of not less.

dear NIkki I would wait a few days as it may be just from swelling. They also can remove the juvederm if you don't like your results. I don't know where you got your filler, but a plastic surgery office has the stuff (can't remember name) that breaks down the hyaluranic acid which is the juvederm gel.

Comment to Schmie2 - I would not do any more IPL treatments. If your face is still having splotching and hyperpigmentation problems are not getting better, but darker, you are going to do more harm then good. Go back to your derm and get on Obagi Nu Derm and maybe do a peel half way through. If you read all the reviews on IPLs, they end up doing more damage to most people that have hyperpigmentation problems. Freckles, IPL works well. I had an IPL done and it almost ruined my face. I am on Obagi now- 6th week- and my skin has never looked better. I don't even wear foundation anymore, just a light translucent powder. My aesthetics specialist works out of Plastic surgery office and they don't do or recommend IPLs. They are treating many patients that had burns along with people who have had bad results (like me). I had my ipl 3 weeks ago and I'm worried I will have permenant hyperpigmentation from burn. update 4/24/09 I went to Aesthetic specialist. I am doing Nu Derm Obagi which I am getting fantastic results. I believe it kept my skin from hyperpigmentation problems. I am half Italian and half English/Irish, so I have a real strange combinations of colors in my skin. I also bought some Nia24 strengthening cream and the sunscreen. I am please with my results. I had a hispanic medical doctor do my IPL. I figured she'd be familiar/expert with fitzpatrick skins 3-4 as she said she did her mother and she also had fraxels done on her face. Well, lesson learned. If you have a medium complexion, I would look for a different alternative to fixing hyperpigmentation problems. IPL work really, really well on freckles, but IPL is like flipping a coin. Some get good results, some end up with a nightmare.

I was burned by an IPL back in February. Today is April 20th. I went to a professional aesthetics/plastic surgery office for help. I've been on Obagi Nu Derm now for 4 weeks and I absolutely love the results I am getting. My burn marks are "almost" gone, still a little pink - but overall, my skin texture, color, tone, everything already looks 75% better. I am also using NIA 24 sunscreen and the moisturizer. If you are considering an IPL, please beware that it can make your face look worse. It seems it is about 50/50 good/bad results. If you want to be safe, use medical professional creams. It is slower, but it will save some heartache for many.
