@ talabree. I went to Dr.Lowney for a consult but i did not have my surgery till april. That was my choice though. I new i did not want it till then. I am not sure how far out he is booked. My price was low only because i scheduled when he was having a special. Then after the new year he had another special and i asked for that discount too lol hey cant hurt right. He agreed so i got a GREAT price :). He has a operating room right in his office which after doing allot of research, allot of md's are doing this it cuts cost for us. I had a nurse anesthethist with me in the or pluss 2 nurses i think(i was out of it lol) I was completely out and felt nothing(that was great i was so scared). I was home the same day its not "that bad" stay on top of the pain meds and you will be ok. it is the hardest thing i have done. Not because of pain but because u cant stand up and you are very very tight(thats a understatement) and it is uncomfortable but before you know it it goes away. I dont think many surgeons around here have u stay the night in the hospital. With Dr.Lowney you are in great hands noone was more petrified than me :) please let me know if you have any other questions.
@ TheInsideOnTheOutside Yes i am out and about i actually went back to work last thursday (bad idea) I am still hunched over because he tied me so tight, which is a good thing but uncomfortable. I describe it as if you bent over and put tape down your belly and stood up that pulling feeling except you cant stand up lol. Yes i am numb and its a pain because you get very itchy and being numb u dont feel like your itching anything lol. I will be honest this is way harder than i thought, Not allot of pain but very uncomfortable i suggest taking 2 weeks off from work if not 3. Dont sneeze or cough no matter how good you feel. I am still swollen, in the morning im great but at the end of the day im tight and hunched over, very uncomfortable. Take you medications dont try to tough it out better to be groggy and sleeping than in pain. I will post more pic soon i promise i have just been a lil busy...ohhh and i would do it again in a heartbeat.. :)
Ohhh boy do I know what you mean about being nervous. I was petrified to be honest. Until I seen the Dr. He was wonderful and made me feel completely confident in his ability to do what I was asking. Yes I had liposuction as well. I had lipo of the abdomen, hips, and back. The avelar tummy tuck is just a technique that is used allot today. You are put to sleep using local anesthesia rather than general, they also numb your abdomen so the blood vessels are constricted and you have minimal bleeding. This procedure combines SmartLipo laser technology and power-assisted micro-cannula liposuction with traditional tummy tuck surgery to remove fat, saggy skin, and stretch marks in the lower abdominal and love handle regions under local anesthesia. I was sound asleep with a propifol and ketamin drip. I also had to take two ativan one hour prior to surgery. When I went into the OR I woke up what seems like 5 min later all done. They also tightened up my abdomen muscles. So I think in a nut shell it’s the same thing as a regular tummy tuck, just a different technique. I had one drain and I was lucky enough to have that drain removed in 2 days I had barely any fluid drainage. I hope this helps you. Please let me know if there is anything else u would like to know. Good Luck
@ lil gigi thanks so much. Ya im itchy as ever. I actually have no more pain meds and i called my dr today but there not in the office. Im hoping i can sleep tonight. The itchyness is awful esp when i take pain med. I cannot believe this is over and that im on the other side of the healing fence,..thank you all for your support
