My problem never resolved. I had it done in 2006 and have had to learn to live with it. I still hate to look at my reflection so I limit and avoid it as much as possible. Sad, but true. The good part is that I have since found other things in life to help me around this sadness. As for all of you who are suffering the awful consequences of this product; for you it may be that the product still might go away so hang in there and if you have any legal recourse at all, even at this time, try to do so now due to all the physical, emotional, and financial damage I know this has caused and is continuing to cause you. As for me, I believe, and it has been suggested that something unknown and more permanent may have been injected instead of the Radiesse, but I was completely unable to go the legal route because I had alot of circumstances working against me. Good luck, hang in there, and just know that if the worst happens and nothing resolves, you can still have a good life, you might have to take a look deep inside yourself to come to that place. It's not easy, but it is worth it. You are still worth it.
I am very sorry this happened to you. Try calling the manufacturer of Radiesse- Bioform, to report this. Here is the website with the contact information http://www.bioform.com/html/contact.html They were very understanding when I called with my own problem and Quality Control keeps a record of the Doctors names involved with these disservices. Unfortunately they can not offer me any more advice because since I am going on 3 years now with the unwanted product in my face they have said that the unknown substance in my face in probably not Radiesse as I had thought but a permanent product. Be sure you get your records from the Dr. who injected you ASAP so you know exactly what was done in case you see another Dr. about it and also for legal purposes if it comes to it. Let me know if you need anything else. Take Care.
Lena, If you went to a reputable doctor you might be in good shape and just have to wait a little while for the swelling to go down. I know what you are going through and how horrible you must feel because I've been there and unfortunately I am still in a bad place with this ordeal. I went to a medispa owned by a nurse who shut down a few months after he injected me with what I thought was Radiesse. In the meantime he did not send me to a doctor to take a look at my problems which meant he probably did not have the directing physician he was required to have nor would he give me my records to take elsewhere. Now almost three years later I have more problems with the product that would not go away and it may be that he use a permanent product instead of the Radiesse that I wished should be gone by now. If you feel your doctor is not reputable, I would get a copy of my records as soon as possible and see another doctor for a second opinion. I was told Radiesse can be extracted with a small nick if you see someone soon enough and possibly dissolved with something. I saw someone two weeks later and it was too late for me. I wish you the best.
Not sure if you got this because I may have done it wrong a while ago but this is what I wrote to you and at the end I have another new comment: Thanks so much for your reponse. Ever since I read your comment about it last year I looked into more info about it and have wanted to try it but have been afraid of how it would react with the synthetic nature of the product, etc. Now I wish that I would have tried it first before the recent steroid injection because now I'm suffering from atrophy as well which just accentuates the original problem. I'm not sure if it's too soon to try it since I had the Kenalog injections in late Jan. early Feb. Regarding you comment about my doctor who screwed up who was actually a nurse. Thanks for any support or any input you might have.
New comment:
Well things have not improved for me. I've seen a very credible PS and even he says it is probably not Radiesse. I asked him about the castor oil because I am dying to try something. He firmly says not to try it in my case because the substance in my face in unknown and we would not know how it will react. So another thing to add to the massive amounts of disappointments.
