Tummy Tuck W/Lipo . . I'm Actually Going Through with It . . . YIKES & YAY!! - Suffolk, VA

Hi AnaNicky . . . I was using neosporin almost constantly on my incision area, where my drains were & also where I had lipo because it just seemed like those areas were taking forever to heal. The last time I saw my PS, she told me to stop using the neosporin period because if you use too much of an antibiotic (even cream apparently), your body will stop producing its own antibodies & will "forget" how to fight an infection on its own. It made sense to me . . . besides, she's the doctor. Anyway, you might want to run it past your doctor first. It sounds kind of strange to me that you still have pinholes that are leaking blood AND she cleared you for Zumba with that going on . . . hmmmm . . . . good luck . . . hope all is well!!

Hi Alli in mn -- I understand your frustration. I am 5 weeks out & still occasionally uncomfortable while sleeping & I'm getting really impatient. Did you try putting 2 or 3 pillows under your legs to keep them propped up?? It takes the pressure off of your back. I've been sleeping like that for a long time b/c of a bad back. It helps. I know everybody heals differently & at a different pace. My doc told me that it will take longer to feel "normal" b/c of all of the lipo I had done. Did you have a lot of lipo?? I have a lot of swelling still . . . especially at night & especially if I try to do too much or I'm on my feet too long.

I know it's a slow process, but it will get better. Before you know it, you'll be feeling a little better with each & every day. Try to stay positive (I know it's hard sometimes). I hope you enjoy your vacation.

Thanks . . that drug reaction was actually more scary than annoying though. It made me sick as a dog & I was afraid to throw up . . . sorry, too much information I know . . it was horrible. Don't ever take a demerol on an almost empty stomach!!!!

Hi Firefly1172 . . . your surgery was just 3 days after mine (tt w/lipo of the flanks). I hope it all went well for you. I hope your kids are going to chip in to help take care of you =))
