@mszee ... it was Dr. Kays @ Wilmington Plastic Surgery ... GREAT experience! I know your pain ... hopefully you will soon be on 'the other side' (post op) ... Healing is going good ... not much pain, just discomfort at times, but overall GREAT! Good Luck!
Zing - I also was advised to use gauze while there was 'oozing' ... I only had to use it for a few days ... I really didn't have any 'leakage' after that ... I also DID NOT have drainage tubes? I'm not sure if drainage tubes are used based on the amt being removed or not because I've heard of a few people who had them and then had to have them removed (so glad that I did not) ... The tape over my incisions had to stay on until I go back for a follow-up visit ... which will be four weeks post opt ... my PS said that if it begins to come off before then, not to 'pull' it but just cut around it ... the tape was used during surgery to put over my dissolveable stitches ... I was told it helps to 'hold the skin' together for a better 'look' in the healing process, so that the skin 'mends' together better ... Guess I'll see when it's removed in a few weeks!
LadyShay504 ...No, I didn't have tubes/drains ... I was sent home after procedure, I'm not sure of total time ... I remember getting my 'cocktail' at 8:30am, waking up and alert at home around 3:30pm ... I sat in the front seat on the way home with seatbelt, but I also had two pillows in car that I took in car with me that morning ... :-)! ... I slept in my bed on my back wit LOTS of extra pillows ... I'm more of a side sleeper, so this is not that comfortable to me ... Can't wait to get back to that point!
StaceyLynn ... So glad surgery went well, I hope you are happy and comfotable with your results ... My PS didn't use staples either, some method of dissolvable stitches with a brown sticky tape ... Today makes a week post opt, brown tape is still in tack and I was able to take shower next day after surgery ... My post opt visit is tomorrow, guess he hill remove brown tape? But really not sure? Sad to know you have to wait 5 days, but those who matter will not mind ... Wishing you a speedy recovery!
