I remember the first few shots and thought that they were not as bad as some that I have had from the dentist. After that I was out for the count and remember going to my car but not the ride home . The next thing I remember is being put into my recliner. Thank God for my wonderful daughters.
I also had a sedative like valium that is more fast action along with the valium, (Halcyon), antibiotic and antinausea pill. This was because I can't take the pain meds. I am sure I had a lot of swelling also ( I intentionally avoided the mirrow) since I could feel the pressure when my head was lowered for any reason but I kept ice on it constantly and they also wanted me to take a form of organic aspirin that they had me pickup prior to the surgery. This was far from the worst pain I have had but I know it would have been less if I could have had pain drugs.
Your experience was vastly different from mine. The doctor and the whole office contribute to the experience. They asked me several times who was going to drive me home and stay with me. They would not have released me to leave if I didn't have a driver. I wouldn't have been able to drive since I don't even remember leaving their office or even the ride home. They also called the next day to see how I was doing.
I had the same experience. I am allergic to all pain meds so Tylenol and valium did the trick for me. I also was very careful about sleeping elevated and applying the cream. As was said in the movie The Edge, what one man can do another can do.
My doctor did the surgery in the San Diego local but he is from Temecula. Presently he has built his business enough to do all his surgeries in Temecula but you can call the San Diego office and they will give you the info.
