Hi, just to let you know, in my notes from the surgeon, it states that I'm not allowed to take green tea for 3 weeks prior to surgery!?!! Maybe you'll want to check this out before you take it....

My parents are going to take my son to their house for the first week after surgery - he thinks I'll be in hospital for the whole week, but I'll be at home while he's with his grandparents. So, by the time I see him I should be feeling better!

I pay for medical insurance here (not everyone does, it's not like the US) but this surgery isn't covered by it unless I have a BMI of 24 or less (approx 130 lbs!) There are NO exceptions to this rule over here- all approvals are based on your BMI, so if you're overweight, as I am, insurance will not cover it under any circumstances - doesn't matter how big your boobs are or how much pain you're in - it's crazy!!!

So I'm paying for this myself - €5,000 (approx $6,500) which includes the surgeons fee, the anaethethist's fee, one night in a semi-private room in the hospital and all medication. I'll be discharged the following morning, please God! I've been saving for the past year, but I'm sure it'll be the best money I've ever spent!

    Hi,

I'm scheduled for the 27th of March, same as you Mrs. Thomas!! Just over 4 weeks to go and I'm feeling pretty positive mostly (some moments of doubting myself but I guess that's normal). I haven't done anything yet to prepare, I'm hoping to go shopping next week and get PJ's, oils and support bras for after surgery.

I just love this site, I've been checking in daily just to read about all the great success stories, and please God, I'll be one of them!

I'm certain I've chosen a wonderful surgeon who has spend loads of time answering my neurotic questions and never rushed me. He has an excellent reputation and I'm pleased with my decision.

I'm on the count-down now - 4 weeks and 2 days! It's all I can think about - first thing when I wake and last thing before I close my eyes at night! I wonder what I'll be like the week before surgery?!?!?

    Hi all,

Just came across this site and I'm sooooo excited! I'm scheduled for surgery on 20th March next and (7 weeks to go!) and can't wait! I'm 41 years old, 5'2" and 11 stone (155 lbs) approx.

I've been wanting this for so long! I've always had HUGE boobs and hated them! My nipples face south and are in line with my elbows! I'm fed up wearing frumpy clothes and putting up with the pain...can't wait to feel lighter!

I know I have to lose weight before surgery and was doing so well with WW and walking on the treadmill. But I sprained my ankle and was off it for 3 weeks and stopped smoking too, so I've not really reached the goals I had set myself!

I have a 3 year old son and I'm worried about how I'll be able to care for him after surgery? My parents are going to take him for a week to allow me to rest, but I've only got 2-3 weeks off work...will this be enough time to recover?

I'm currently a 38G and hoping to get to a C-D cup.. the PS says I'll probably be a DD after though...I'm hoping he'll go smaller, but he says DD will be more realistic.

Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences, I've learnt so much about what to expect and what to prepare for!
