Hi ladies!!! I have been MIA for so long! Life has been busy and things have been good. I talked to my PS about that hard spot but he felt it and said it is fine. There are lots of lumps and bumps that work themselves out over the course of a year. My PS office actually provided me with silicone strips for my scars and I have been using them religiously but the adhesive is definitely wearing away. I am thinking about purchasing some on my own if the office won't give me more (it's probably a one time thing that they give it to you).
I am definitely happy overall with everything. Got the OK a few weeks ago to work out with weights again and pretty much do whatever I want so I am back to full blown work-out mode. I'm taking it easy and working my way back into it but it definitely feels great to be able to lift some weights again. I am not targeting my ab muscles. I've never had 6 pack abs before just basically used ab workouts to flatten my tummy and to help with posture and it seems the surgery has really done that for me. Must have a lot to do with the muscle repair. I'm not ignoring my core, just using other exercise to strengthen it.
I am so excited to wear a 2 piece this summer! I bought a few and they are cute but man, they make those bottoms low nowadays!! I guess it has been about 10 or 15 years since I wore a 2 piece. LOL
I will get some new pictures on here in the next couple of days. Right now I have had a weekend of bad eating and I am swollen. LOL
I am glad to hear that most are feeling good and healing nicely. Hugs to those that are having a few bumps in the road but I think we all agree that it was 100% worth it and that most of our problems will be resolved with just a little bit of time.
For those dealing with jealousy issues, I agree with what most said. There was a quote on FB a few days ago that I'd like to share:
"When you're a beautiful person on the inside, nothing in the world can change that about you. Jealousy is the result of one's lack of self confidence, self worth, and self acceptance. The Lesson: If you can't accept yourself, than certainly no one else will." -Sasha Azevedo
I promise to be in touch more often!!! :0)
Hi everyone, glad to hear that everyone seems to be recovering well and loving the flat bellies!!
Things are going good here. I am 7 weeks post-op and go for another follow-up visit on Tuesday. I am hoping I can kiss the compression garment bye-bye!!! I hate it! LOL I actually wouldn't mind wearing it to sleep but I hate the weird look it gives me under clothes.
Also, I have noticed a weird-ish hard spot near the center of my incision line and a bit below. There are also so knotty-type feelings if I press down. Nothing that I think is visible, just when I really feel around.
Obviously I will ask mydoc on Tuesday but from what I have read it could be scar tissue forming that just needs to be massaged and it will resolve with time or those knotty things I'm feeling can be internal sutures that weren't noticeable before because of the swelling. I am hoping it's not a seroma. For those who have dealt with that, what does it feel and look like? I'd say this weird hard spot is the size of a baseball maybe??
Yogamom, I think it depends on the individual but hot yoga and spin sound a bit ambitious to me. I used to train with a trainer at least twice a week and do weights on my own once a week in addition to cardio and right now I am on the treadmill at a 2.0 incline and a 3.2 speed which would be about 10% of the physical activity I was used to. I would think the yoga would be too much stretching but maybe not for you, I don't know. Also, the spin classes I have taken are pretty intense but maybe as the instructor you can talk them through a lot of it and not go full throttle yourself?
I don't find too much more swelling but I'm definitely more tiredthe days I work out.
I started back at the gym this past week too. PS said to just stick to treadmill and nothing crazy like running, etc. I hate not being able to the do the weights. I visited with my trainer and training partnet on Friday at the gym and they were doing so many fun things and I was stuck on the treadmill :0( I have another 4 weeks of treadmill pergatory.
Also, I find that my eating habits get worse when I am not focused at the gym also. Have been eating crap that I never usually eat. Scale is up a few pounds but some of it could just be bloat that can be corrected in a few days with some strict dieting. I think it's time to pay more attention to what I am eating! Ugggghhhh
On a good note I went to a local St. Patrick's Day parade party yesterday and got maybe cat calls from random men. LOL I guess that means the plastic surgery looks good. At one point some half-drunk guy was walking by me and a girlfriend with all our children running around (5 kids between us) and he said to me "are they all yours??" I said "oh yeah, all of them!" He said well how do you keep your girl-ish figure. I leaned over to my friend and said "I pay for it." LOL She's a good friend so she knows it's only half true ;0) The majority of it I work really hard for but it was a funny comment none the less.
How is everyone else doing with swelling? Is it subsiding for most of you or getting worse? I find I have good days and bad. When I eat a lot of salt, etc. man I blow up!! But when I watch my salt intake and it's a good day I am noticing less swelling than before.
I think you look fantastic! And I think your implants look great. I wish I went a little bigger with mine. You can always "dress them down" if you want to. Like in that picture with the black top and jeans, you look great in that pic!!
I think we are all our own worst critics and that you will get used to how you look in no time. Besides, guys love big boobs!!!!! The ladies r just jealous!hahahahaha
