Butterflymarie, thank you for the note. The infection that I got from the revision resulted in me loosing one of the cartilage grafts - and has also resulted in a massive witch-like bump in the middle of my nose - so I will unfortunately have to get a cosmetic revision when the infection and skin heals enough. I am perfectly happy with the rest of my body and will never get any other plastic surgery again, but the original revision was necessary due to a deformity that developed. I've just had horrible luck, and it's a bummer that a 3rd surgery is now needed thanks to the trauma of the infection. Dr. Fechner has been extremely helpful/knowledgable throughout this entire process, and I do agree that he's a great doctor. I just ended up with a way worse nose than I started with due to this infection. :/
I just had my revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Fechner and although I am only one day post-op, I can safely say that he is a phenomenal doctor and is very realistic in what can and cannot be done. The surgery was great and he and I shared the same vision for my nose. I had my original rhinoplasty with Dr. Bartlett in Brookline, btw.
I will be seeing Dr. Fechner as well. Was there an anesthesiologist present for your surgery? Do you know if you had twilight sedation or general anesthesia? I want to make sure that the route that I'm going is the norm for his practice.
I will be seeing Dr. Fechner and am extremely curious: were you under twilight or general anesthesia (was an anesthesiologist present, or just the nurse)?
