im an RN and im getting tummy, lipo of flanks and back done. i know alot of surgeries are done w/spinal blocks but pt's are always sedated in a twighlight and narcs are admin through the block. and then after surgery you are swollen and all your fluids drain downward so you will have "dependent" edema for a few weeks after surgery. how can a dr know exactly how to lipo when surgery was just done before hand. i would never agree to something like this. i am sorry about your syncope. so how often do you faint? that is a scary diagnosis and usually cardiac related.
i have never heard of someone being awake during a 3 hour lipo/tummy tuck and only being numbed w/lidocaine?? i haven't heard of an MD doing a second major elective surgery one week following a major surgery? i would get a second opinion
do you have insurance? your breast implants could be covered b/c of the extreme difference in size. you should have your MD write a letter and see if you can be reimbursed. i work w/insurance and not ALL ps is "pay out of pocket" there are cases that are covered.
