I am so sorry, Donica! I haven't been checking in on Real Self. Life got crazy and my recovery went great and I guess I was just lazy!! Quick update. Had my TT/BR in Jan this year. Recovery went well. All the normal difficulties, but overall recovered very quickly and was back to my housecleaning job after 5 weeks (should have waited 6 because that first week was really hard, even though I only cleaned one house!!). I have had several post-op checks with the dr. and he is pleased. I do have a little asymetry with my breasts that I thought was apparent pretty early. The one is slightly larger and the scars underneath are in different places, so that adds to it. But, I think as the scars continue to fade...that will get better. They are a light purple now. Since I am 51, I don't have to be perfect...and my hubby seems happy ;) I still have a lot of numbness around my belly button. Speaking of BBs, I think it looks good and finally feel like it's mine! My TT scar is also light purple and looks good. I have a few hard lumps that are getting a little smaller that the doc says are from fat necrosis around the scar. I am thinking one or two may not go away, but they are not visible. I can just feel them. I am having trouble maintaining my weight which scares the hell out of me!! I was 135 before surgery and 4 months after surgery I was 130, which was a 40 pound weight loss from Jan 2011. I am now 134 but went up to 137. When I saw the doc, he alleviated some of my fears and said that weight swings of 25-30 pounds would be most damaging to my results. However I am really trying to be on top of things. I worked too hard and went through too much. Anyway, I would do it all over again tomorrow if I had to. I am SOOO happy with the results and how I feel, both phsically and mentally. My back pain is mostly gone and my waistline looks so different...I finally have a waistline after having twins 14 years ago!! Anyway, how are YOU, Donica?

Yah for Tony and how sweet of him. Boobs are a non-issue compared to TT!! That will be a breeze :))) Glad you got some relief with Dr. draining your belly. Good point about living close. It must be hard to be back at work, but maybe you are right about it taking your mind off of things. You looked GREAT Sat. night. I am so sorry this had been such a long road for you. Can't wait until it's all behind you, swelling and pain are gone and you feel somewhat normal. I will be at 11 weeks tomorrow and still experience swelling (I wear a Spanx and my binder for my cleaning jobs) and wear something (flexess, etc.) all the time. Tummy is still numb, scars on breasts are still very red and I still have a scab on my TT incision where the stitch is still coming thru (even though he tried to remove it) and a VERY lumpy hard feeling under the entire TT incision (bumpier and lumpier in some areas). So...I am thinking it's going to be awhile 'til any of us feel totally normal!! Hang in there...so happy for Tony about the raise...tell him congrats from us, kay??

Amber, you look incredibly good!!! Your belly looks so tiny and you still have swelling, so just imagine. So GLAD you got the drain out and have a fun night out planned Sat. I think you are doing the right thing to take this week off and that by doing so, you will really start to feel good by next week. You are sounding so much better. Don't catch that cold and let Tony continue to take care of you...you'll be able to repay him soon :)) Oh and the BB looks really great, too. So happy for you!

Yes...I am at 9 weeks and when I suck in my abs, my belly does get a bit flatter. I am still experiencing a little bit of swelling in my upper belly late in the day and am expecting that to linger. I, also, am still in some type of cg everday and at night. My PS wants me to continue to wear it, especially across my incsion to help flatten it. I am a bit concerned that I have a hard, lumpy and thick ridge under my incision and it actually hurts more now then it did right after surgery. Doc says it's fat adhering to the internal stitches and to keep massaging and it will get better. He said fat doesn't heal as well as regular tissue (I still have some fat on my belly, but so much less than before I am not too concerned by it, hoping exercise and losing 4-5 more pounds will help). A bit confusing, but I just keep doing what he tells me to and hoping for the best!!
