Hi and may I just say "YES!" I still have residual under my eyes. It's been all of 3 yrs. for me. It has slight purple hue, too. I'm sorry for you and I know what you're feeling. A plastic surgeon or dermatologist should be able to help you, no question. So I don't know why the doctors you're seeing are saying they don't know...keep looking until one of them says yes I heard of that! It's common with Juvederm. I really do not like to give advice but when I relate to something so strongly, I want to help. When you make the initial call to your doctor, be direct and tell them " I had a bad experience with Juvederm injected under my eye(s). I'd like to dissolve what's left. Is this something you do? (Tell them it's Juvederm.and be positive in your words.) One doctor said it looks like water..Yes because Juvederm holds water. If they say okay, to come in we need to look at it. I would politely ask what the consult fee would cost. I'm not shy, ..although some of my friends would not ask. It is Juvederm under your eye that is still there. It holds water like crazy. I recently was speaking to a plastic surgeon and he said in his practice he has seen Juvederm last up to 4 yrs!! I had mine dissolved when it was first injected but should have had a little more dissolved. I have a similar look under my right eye which I was told is still the Juvederm! I know you didn't ask but here's my story:
The highly respected Westport CT plastic surgeon (self proclaimed I realize now) gave me way too much, superficially and it took him less than two minutes to shoot it...When I went back to him with puffy pillows and a gummy worm look under my eyes... he told me "Oh you must be allergic to it" When I expressed my opinion on my new look, he was highly insulted and shouted "I'm a plastic surgeon for God's sake-I know what I'm doing!!! Auhh. that's debatable. I calmed myself because he was acting like a lunatic and I was insulted.. He thinks I'm buying the allergic reaction.Really? I thought to myself "you screwed this up and you're gonna fix this" Before my return to him I read on RealSelf about the enzyme that would dissolve this..I decided to stroke his ego, play nice and asked him if he could do that.,dissolve this stuff. He wasn't too receptive to this idea so I told him "I" was very unhappy with this result. He finally ordered the enzyme and shot it under both eyes,. I had a series of two a few weeks apart. It worked. It was a huge improvement and my goal was hopefully to get a good result from this enzyme injection(s) and get away from him. The Drs.on RealSelf gave a thumbs up on this stuff. I'm from CT and Dr. Felice, Youthful Images, Bloomfield, CT is awesome. Good Luck.

Hi Mity, I just googled hematoma to be sure I had the correct meaning. I am certainly no doctor but I find it a little strange that both your upper cheeks look so alike with matching hematoma's? How likeIy is that? That would be question of mine. I still think it's the juvederm. The plastic surgeon who injected my mess told me this stuff will move or fall. He said it happened to him. Of course, he tells me this afterwards. You need to do what is comfortable for you of course. I understand. Mity if this isn't better in a couple of weeks make some phone calls to some dermatologists or Plastic Surgeons and ask the question. Tell them what you had injected, what happened and you're not totally convinced they a hematoma's. Say I need some help and ask if they could see you and how much is the visit going to cost should they say yes make an appt (that was always a question of mine...i don't have a lot of money) I am not someone that likes to give advise but i remember when I had my under eye problem.I read all the posts (like you are doing) and used the info that made the most sense to me so again, do what you think but don't take your doctors word totally. In my experience, when there are problems they don't admit they might have made the error.. I totally understand your confusion. You wanted to look better not worse (that's what made me so upset) if this stuff doesn't dissolve itself quick, make some phone calls.Take good care and I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get the results you were hoping for soon. I am sorry to see this happen to you because it happened to me. You can certainly get rid of that nasty stuff. The plastic surgeon injected my under eye hollows with Juvederm Plus! Horrible results..water bags and what looked like"gummy worms"..under both eyes. I cried a lot. He told me wait 2 wks and massage the area. Well, I did as he told me. It didn't work.I could have massaged 'til the cows came home and that stuff wasn't moving out! That stuff holds a lot of water (worse when you cry believe me) so if you have salty foods and decide to have a cocktail...think twice...I was so so upset with him and these terrible results. I read and researched on RealSelf and saw that the enzyme hylauronadaise ( I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly) will dissolve that...I asked him to please remove this juvederm with the enzyme. He had to order it but he did inject me twice, two different times within a couple of weeks..It made a huge difference, definite improvement. If you haven't done so yet,,do it. It will dissolve it ,if not right away, within a day or few, My left eye dissolved right after the injection but my right eye took a few days for improvement but I saw the difference with each passing day. Restylane is a much better under eye filler. It's injected deeper and, I was told by my dermatologist, it has a different molecular structure..bigger I believe..I've had that done and I loved it's result. Please know you can dissolve it. Don't worry...it will dissolve. Good luck my friend...you will be ok really soon..do it! Netty
