Hey Fit, I sent you a really long email (sorry, rambling) but I just went and looked again....and I really do think you look GREAT! Seriously. Give it time.....let the swelling go down more, and I will be shocked if at 5 months post-op you aren't feeling great and happy with your results. Just give it time. And I agree with Bejewel...ask all the questions so you have peace of mind. But, again, I think you look awesome....and you are ONLY 3 wks post-op. That's kind of insane.
you know, was thinking about it, since he had to create your belly button (no idea what is involved in that) but do you think there could be more swelling in that general area? maybe that is throwing some things off too in terms of how things look right now. i don't think anyone else on my january forum had to have a belly button created (moved yes, but not created).....so it just seems to me the body might react with more inflammation/swelling. Just a thought. Glad I calmed you down! Still want to get together and meet up. Am trying to figure out my "new" workout routine and keep thinking "I need to consult with Fit!". Am thinking my goal will be 2 days yoga, 2 days weights/cardio, 1 day cardio (kayak, bike, walk, or gym class) plus couple of tennis matches each week. That should keep my ass in shape, right? Good standard plan? It's been at least a year since I did any weights, and I think that's been a mistake....need to fit that back in. Have bunions and injured ITB bands, so running not an option. Glad you are doing good and coming around. I think with this, you def need to be patient. To be honest, I know my leg swelling has gone way down since surgery, and I guess my tummy has gone down some (clearly, scar moving) but I FEEL like my back and tummy is exact same as post-op. I've just decided to not focus on it and that one day I'll realize the swelling is way down. And in the mean time, I try to not look at my scar! ;-)
Fit, my scar is a little funky too right now and it's due to swelling. The side where I had an infection is higher than the other side, but it's definitely due to swelling, because that side is swollen more too. You can't see that in photos, but when you look at it in person you can. At first I was like "dude, you couldn't cut an even line?". As that side heals more though and the swelling goes down, my scar is evening out and it's getting lower - kind of crazy to see. Also really crazy how much slower that side is healing though. I'm sure your scar will go down as swelling subsides. Wondering too though if your choice in panties has an impact on seeing the scar. I can't see my scar, but I am wearing hip huggers post-surgery....just to be absolutely certain I don't accidentally see that bad boy. ;-) Glad you are doing so good though - your recovery has really been so good! Yay!
Question to those that are running - did you have back lipo? I have run twice (very short, once playing tag with my daughter) and both times I felt a great amount of discomfort in my lower back. Believe it's from back lipo. Wondering if anyone else has had this, or if those that are running did not have back lipo? Also, I walked 5 miles Thursday and felt great, then walked 5 miles on hilly terrain and really felt it in my abs. I'm thinking it was the incline/hills that got me and that it was all ok. I'm almost 5 wks post-op. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
