I am having my saline submuscular implants removed by Dr. Peter Johnson (Des Plaines) in 2 days, I have posted my story. He is quite open to removing implants via local anesthesia, however I am afraid to do it that way and prefer to be asleep. He can perform the procedure in his office. He helped my have my implant removal covered by insurance.
Good luck to you in finding a surgeon you are comfortable with. I understand and personally relate to your wanting your implants out and hope you can find a way.
Thanks for the positive thoughts, Angie. I am certain that I'll be pleased with being "au nautrel" (cute!), as I'm quite happy with the breast that has the deflated implant (minus the pain from the shell poking me). I had forgotten what a soft, squishy, natural breast feels like!

I, too, have saline implants under the muscle (16 years). I am having them removed in less than a week and cannot wait.
I admire you for doing it via local. My Dr wanted to do it that way, but I am too terrified sk I'm doing it under general anesthesia.
Good luck to you and here's to an implant-free 2012 for us both!
