Have any of you had Juvederm or Restalyne? Can you use those in place of Botox? I thought those products were for more severe wrinkles or where gravity had taken over and your face was drooping. Let me know, if there is a possible option. Thanks!

I don't know if it was exactly flu like symptoms, but one day like a flick of a switch my endurance was gone. I'm a fitness instructor and one day when I was taking a class it was as if I was in somebody elses body. I had no energy, no drive, my legs had nothing to give. I'm saying NOTHING. The muscles in my leg were depleted; I couldn't even make them work harder no matter how hard I tried. This was not me. Its still going on, but not to the extreme it was. Its been 2 months since I felt that way and I think its slowly working its way out. Unbelievable! I talked to my Ob-gyn about it thinking it was a sign of menopause even tho I had no other symptoms. It turned out it wasn't. They couldn't explain it. I made an appointment with my family physician, but after reading all of your letters I know what it is now. I would have never linked it all. So I'm just going to wait it out, thats all any of us can really do. I do see my dermatologist next week and will discuss it with him and let you know his thoughts.

Okay thats all fine, thats how I felt until my hair started thinning more and more. And its been 5 months since my last injection and it continues to thin. I really don't know what I'm going to do when the wrinkles return. Should I go with the Juvederm? Is that any different? I thought it was for really severe wrinkles, which I don't have. I really believe the longer your on Botox the more adverse effects your body will have including muscle weakness. Gee when will my endurance return? Hmm. A year or more?

Oh, and by the way, my doctor put me on this drug called spironolactone to try to combat the loss of hair. We'll see what happens=0

Well at least we're not alone in all of this dreadfulness. Lets keep in touch with each other on our progress. I'm trying to do my best to stay positive. I do think that many of the doctors that use Botox are unaware of this side effect, unfortunately=( Hopefully our hair follicles have not been killed off for good. We have to think positive!!
