Thanks for the compliment. I have gotten used to the ear. :) As for the nose, in follow ups I had very small injections of silicone to try to create the last bit of symetry. This practice is a little controversial since it is off label. I trust my doctor's judgement though and the results have been excellent so far.
There was some swelling at first but it was not major. I don't even know if my friends could tell. Now (two years after surgery) it looks completely normal and natural. The front looks just like a normal chin and my smile looks normal. I had a small implant so the difference is subtle but it definitely gave my face a better "squared off" look.
Sorry you are not happy with your surgery. 15 months is a long time. I would look for another surgeon specializing in revision if you feel that you are very unhappy. I wouldn't use the same surgeon again if you do not like the results he produced the first time. I am very pleased with my surgery so I guess I just got lucky.
I can't speak to what your surgeon will do but you are still very soon post op...there could still be significant swelling. Like I stated, a good surgeon will not perform a revision for at least a year after the first surgery to give time for all swelling to go down and to let you fully heal. Please remember, you cannot expect perfection, but you should demand significant improvement. If in a year you aren't satisfied, then I would look for a different surgeon who specializes in revision surgeries...I would not use the same doc if you feel he did not do a good job.
Yes, there was uneven swelling after surgery and when I first looked in the mirror, I was worried. But it was uneven swelling. Don't get me wrong, now after a year, if you look obsessively close my nose isn't 100% straight but it looks MUCH better than before surgery and I am satisfied with the results.
Now it may or not be the case for you. If it has been a month since your surgery then it less likely that it is caused by uneven swelling. Regardless, don't freak out. You must wait a year to do a second surgery if it is necessary and if you find a good doctor like me, then it can be fixed to your satisfaction with a revision. You need to relax, be patient, give it time to get used to the new look and then if not satisfied find a good doc.
