I don't think black women who have their noses done, their hair done (straightened, colored, extensions, etc) or lighten their complexions are trying to be white, anymore than whites that tan or go for fuller lips and butt are trying to be black
I think there is an aesthetic that is trying to be achieved that is pushed at all of us whatever ethnicity we are by the media, so sad people are willing to go to extremes, all women are beautiful, for a long time light skin was popular, now it is tan skin (not black), why can't we just embrace who we are and stop pushing this image no normal human can achieve, even the models admit they don't look that way and if you google them without the makeup and the lighting and professional stylists they are right! They are young with good skin and bone structure, the rest is artifice...
