sbry210 - great story. I think you are making the right choice going the bypass route. Everyone is different and everyone's body. I myself, had no complications and continue to be amazed by the experience and the process. Good luck!
Hi Karrileigh,
Thank you for your message. I wouldn't worry about anything. The surgery definitely is mentally challenging. As far as the food and eating what you want before, that is normal. You are about to give up a lot of certain kinds of food for a while anyway.
I had to give up soda for good and bread was my favorite. I can eat bread now but only a little. It will get easier. Have your last mean so to speak and enjoy it.... Let me know how it goes. I'd be happy to keep in touch.
Ni matter who you are you will have a problem with this. It is impossible to loose that much weight that fast and not have loose skin in some form or another. With that said I was only heavy for 4 years so I did get off easier than say someone who has been heavy their entire life. But, I still had loose skin and that is why I just had an extended tummy tuck and my breasts done. That shouldn't be a reason not to get the surgery though. Think of it this way..... Say you never have the money to get the skin issue taken care of after you lose all the weight. You still loook 1,000 times better in clothes than you did when you were heavy. Would you rather feel and look good in clothes and be thin than be heavy and not feel or look in OR out of clothes.... That is what I asked myself. I'd rather look awesome in clothes, knowing I have loose skin, cuz no one knows but you...( I hid it very well ) than be heavy again.
BEER- NEVER ( Nothing with carbonation )
Wine- You will be drunk of your rocker with one glass. I'd wait at least a year and even then don't do it often. If you like alcohol, the surgery maybe isn't for you.
