Virgo, i had reduction a year ago on December 7. I had drains in for two days after surgery. My doctor removed all my bandages when the drains came out. I also was as large as you and im now a C cup. You have a ton of stitches and there will be some drainage. Everyone is different. Be very kind to yourself while you are healing. The random pains are very normal. All those nerves are reconnecting so you'll feel those zaps. I returned to work on January 3. Felt pretty good even though i tired easily. There is a ton of information on this site. I found it helpful before, during and months afterwards. Good luck to you. I'm sure you will be thrilled when the swelling goes now and they start to look more normal.

Vicki41 - I'm six months post-op. Best thing I've ever done for myself. I was nervous up to the hour before surgery. Not so much scared, but just overwhelmed with the whole thing. I couldn't believe that I would wake up and look normal instead of walking around with 40GG boobies. I just saw my PS this week and I told her that sometimes I put my hands on my breasts and just feel them...feel how good they look...how normal...and gotta love the perky-ness. I'll keep you in my thoughts next week. Please let us know how it went.

N1021. Surgery is scary. I had open heart surgery when I was 11 plus other not so serious surgeries throughout the years. I was blessed to find this site and read everyone's experiences. I was nervous right up to the hour before surgery. When I woke up after surgery, I was totally amazed how good I felt. I tolerate pain well so I had very little pain. Only took 2 pain killers through my whole recovery. I was completely healed up on my left breast 3 weeks after surgery. The right breast took longer -- another 2 weeks. I am now 4 months PO, and I would do this again in a second. I was a GG cup, and had 8.5 lbs taken off. Be kind to yourself and listen to your doctor during your recovery time. You'll do great!

Erin...I'm post-op 4 months, too. I'm glad I did it even though I ended up with skin/tissue necrosis on right side which took over 8 weeks for the incisions to finally heal up. I now have a funky nipple on that side..the skin healed high up on the nipple and I really don't have an areola. My PS wants to do further surgery but I said no. I'm fine with it now. It took me awhile to accept that fact. PS really wants to fix the nipple but she, of course, cannot guarantee that I won't end up with necrosis again. I couldn't go through that again. Like you, I was shocked to learn how much the mega-boobs hid the rest of my fat below the waist. On top I can wear an XL now (that is just amazing) and on the bottom I'm still a 2X. It is still the best thing I've ever done for myself.
