As far as I know, cosmetic procedures are not at all covered by health insurance companies. But as far as I am concerned, issues like this that have the potential to alter one's mental health ie. depression, anxiety, social withdrawal, etc., should be considered and covered by health insurance.

Yes. They suggested that I have a hormonal imbalance and/or that the prior treatments weren't performed correctly and then offered me a treatment plan if I had the money to give them. Ugh.

Huh! I've experienced the same thing. It sounds to me like you are talking about American Laser. I was so excited to recieve a gift of money to receive this treatment that I had wanted for so long. I gave them a few thousand and the treatments were supposed to be guaranteed and unlimited for as long as I still had hair on my face. They gave up on me after 2 years and wouldn't allow me to continue treatments. I was devastated. The treatments did reduce the hair growth but then about a year later, it became worse than its ever been. I now have to shave at least twice a day. All my blood tests show normal hormone levels so I don't know what to do from here and can't afford anymore treatments. I am a single parent and should be dating but I've lost alot of self-confidence because of this.
