Hi ladies. Long time no post, I know. Been busy with this crazy thing we call life. I'm almost 4 weeks out of my surgery and all in all, things are going well. My biggest concern right now is the ITCH. O M G ready to scratch all my boobs off! The insision is fine, its the skin around the insision that is red and itchy...have tried lotions...but nothing is helping. Anyone else having this problem?!?!

Hope you can get off the Tramadol soon...that made me feel gross too!! I took it for 5 days until my drains were out and I felt the effects of it for a few days after I quit taking it.
    Good luck!!!

Hi Mel! I had my surgery done on March 21st and to date I have no regrets! My husband, like yours, always supported me prior to the surgery and I too had your same fears of scars, looks and how he would look at me after the surgery. Now, I look back at my fears and realize they rare totally unfounded....hubby has been my rock through all this, changing dressings, emptying, my drains, sponge bathing me etc. Now, two weeks post op hes complimenting the new girls and telling me he loves them. so I'm fairly confident your hubby, given what you've said, will be the same.
You'll feel so much better when this is done!!!

Ok, I have a question that hopefully someone can answer for me. I've been wearing my surgical bra faithfully since the 21st...and all is looking great! My question is, do I have to keep wearing the dressings? I've had zero leakage since the drains were removed last week. I find the gauze SOOOOO irritating on my skin. Right now I'm wearing just the bra, sans dressings and it feels heavenly!! Any suggestions???

Still tire really easily, Iowa. Looking forward to a whole day where I'm not needing to sit and rest several times a day. Things are healing, insisions look great, not oozing or anything (knocks wood) but still tender on the sides of my breasts....and itchy. Not the insisions but the skin around it. Keep thinking I have crumbs in my bra or something! LOL. I'm really struggling when it comes go sleeping though!!! Always been a tummy sleeper so this sleeping on my back business is really messing me up. Hopefully soon I'll at least be able go sleep on my side and I'm sure that will help a lot.
All in all things are good. No regrets as of yet and really hope it stays that way!
