Had a final minor day surgery yesterday to cut out the last lumps that formed from Radiesse and Teosyall injections. I had a day surgery a couple of months ago to remove a couple of the lumps to make sure that this would be successful. It was. Then April 30 I had a surgery under general anaesthetic to remove the rest which left me with 44 stitches in my face from my eyebrows, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, above my upper lip, on my upper and lower lips and on each side of my lips. Yesterday's minor surgery was to remove a couple that got missed. Luckily I heal up well and the redness and scars should fade. At least the red raised lumps are gone and I don't have any more recurring weeping infections going on that I fought for 3 years. The only thing that helped that at all was a product called Penicillina cream that I bought in Mexico. No antibiotic ointment worked at all. The only solution is surgery. There is still a bit of lumpiness under the skin in places but it is not noticable. My plastic surgeon has been really good about wanting to get this resolved. He insists he has never had a patient have such a reaction before and I do believe him. He also said that I can never have filler of any kind again. I am very happy to have this finally taken care of and hope none of you have to go through what I have.

It has been almost 3 years since my plastic surgeon injected complimentary Radiesse because the product that I wanted did not arrive and I had travelled 2 1/2 hours to his office from my home. What a disaster. 3 months later I developed bluey red welts along the injection lines. Then these areas started weeping and still are. I have hard lumps that show no sign of diminishing. Finally this year I convinced my doctor to have the discharge cultured and it is a staph infection that I have no idea how I got. I am seeing the plastic surgeon again march 14 and he is going to try to help. I recall that when he did the injections in his office that he did not wear gloves and I am wondering if this is how the infection happened. Nevertheless I would tell everyone DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT!. I really hope I can get this fixed because it has now been 3 years and the lumps and infection are not getting any better after numerous courses of antibiotics. I am in Canada so no point in contacting the FDA for me.

It has been almost 2 years now and I still have hard lumps around my mouth and on my right jawline that are quite visible. I will never let anyone get near me with Teosyal again and it should be taken off the market. Terrible stuff. Mine was fine for the first 3 months and then the problems started. I have a hard scarlike line in my neonasal folds that are blueish red and are infected and won't heal. I am constantly having to squeeze pus out and my night cream has been antibiotic ointment since this all started and it started breaking open. I also have a long lump to the left of my upper nose that is also infected and it won't heal completely although it is better than it was. All my injections were done by a highly credible plastic surgeon who says he has never seen this before. I have no idea what to do but I would like to sue the makers of Teosyal. I have to use cover stick just to go out in public and look normal! It is just horrible.

Sorry to hear of your problems with Teosyal. Maybe it was the fault of the person doing your injections. I have been going to a plastic surgeon and have been very happy with my results. I do have a few under the skin lumps but they are not visible and have caused no problems. I believe these are not from teosyal but are from artecoll as I have had a combination of both. My last series was 1 vial of artecoll and 2 vials of teosyall in Jan 2009. It is now nearly one year and I am considering going back again for a touch-up. I am 66 years old and people think I am in my mid 50's or younger. I bruise quite a lot and it takes about 2-3 wks for it all to go away but the results are worth it. I use Emla topical anaesthetic that I buy at the drug store and I feel no discomfort even on my upper lip and my lips. I think it is worth it to go to a plastic surgeon for this type of treatment.
