Could it be that you're constipated? Are you wearing your binder? My PS had me wear the binder 24/7 for 6 weeks post-op. It's been 4 1/2 since my surg and I still have days when I swell....so, I wear my binder for a day and the swelling goes away.

I had my TT about 4 1/2 months ago and I still have swelling on and off. Especially when I'm on my feet all day at work or doing something strenuous around the house. I wear my binder when this happens and the swelling goes right down. My PS said it's common for this to happen for up to a year after surgery. You look great. Give yourself time to heal. Even with the occasional swelling, I love my new flat tummy.

I'm almost 3 months PO and I still have days when I'm more swollen then others...especially if I was on my feet all day. I can't believe you were doing housework on day 4!!!! Didn't your PS give you post op instructions? For the first 4 weeks I wore my binder 24/7 and I still wear it when I feel and look swollen. Perhaps you caused some type of "damage" by doing too much too soon. What does your PS say? I love my results and have no regrets...even on my swelling days. Good luck and relax! Allow your body to heal!!! You had major surgery!!!

Yippee for you!!! I'm 11 weeks post-op and loving my new tummy. My recovery was much easier than I thought it would be. I spent the first night at a post-op facility....pricey, but worth every penny. Only took Rx meds for the 1st 2 days then switched to Tylenol (didn't want to experience constipation). I didn't have anyone staying with me and was fine...but, I did prepare. I didn't rent a hospital bed or chair...but, I did buy a bunch of pillows to support my different positions in my "normal" bed. The 2 things that I found to be most helpful were the granny panties (wear them inside out, so the seam doesn't rub against your skin) and mens "wife beater" type undershirts. They both served as protection between my skin and binder. My PS wouldn't allow me to take a shower until after my drains were removed, so I didn't have to worry about the drains showering. I went back to work after 2 weeks. I'm an RN, but in administration. You'll do great!!! I have not had one day of regret...good luck to you :)
