  • Posted to How was your eyelid (blepharoplasty) surgery recovery? on 29 Apr 2013

My doctor told me to only use cold on my eyes. It has been more than 3 years and the only time warm water touches my eyes is during my shower when washing my hair. I also would not massage my eye skin - I try to touch my eyes minimally. I am very careful when removing eye make up. All was good with my recovery and this is what I would recommend. Good luck!

Maybe you should go back to see your doctor or get the advice of another one about the stitches, swelling, and the pain. My doctor told me not to use heat at all - only cold compresses. I still sleep on my back with my head elevated and it's been 3 years (had it done at age 50), just because I'm afraid of getting swelling (and I suffer from sinus headaches). And I never use warm water around my eyes, except whatever falls down when washing my hair in the shower. Good luck!! Hopefully it will turn out wonderful soon!

You are so young and you looked very pretty before your surgery! But it's great that you are happy with the surgery and I hope you are very happy once the swelling is gone. I'm sure you will be beautiful! You were very brave!!

Lydia in NJ - I think you need to stop posting on Sablebunny's review as it is offensive. Hopefully you are not increasing her blood pressure, but I know you have my heart racing in anger. This is not a "commercial" page and Sablebunny posted pics and a review to share her happiness. Start your own discussion about this on your own page, if you have one. I think it's pretty obvious which procedure Sablebunny had done. People on Real Self are not just reading one review and are hopefully not idiots. Good that you are doing your own research but to insinuate that someone is not being honest is rude. Good luck to anyone who is looking into this procedure. I, too, am happy with my results of upper and lower bleph, and I found someone I felt comfortable with. I enjoyed reading reviews here, but I did not find my particular doctor on Real Self. Good luck to you and I hope it turns out great. It's wonderful that Sablebunny is happy with her results. JMO
