Don't worry. It took me a full month and I was still hunched over by the end of the day a few weeks post 1 month. Everyone is different and some will say they were ok after 2 weeks. They are lucky! I am now post op 15 months I feel great and am super happy so don't let this get you down you will be fine let your body adjust at your own rate ;-)
Hi, I had mine done a year ago December 2nd, yay! Anyway the year went so fast it is hard to believe it has been that long. That being said I was super fit to beging with, excercised 6 days a week sometimes twice and it made no difference. Everyone's healing process is different but for me I couldn't stand up straight for a month! After a couple of weeks I thought I was but my husband was like, Ummm no you are hunched over haha! I was trying to play things off at Christmas and everyone kept asking my what was wrong so i had to pretend my back was out. As the day progresses I would usually get more hunched over. I had a full muscle repair though and I was pulled super tight. All I can say is don't worry about it and don't let it get you down if you can't stand up straight for a while because as long or bad as it seems it is just a blip in time. It feels like nothing now. Good luck with everything!
Don't be scared the healing process does take time but the worst of it is the first couple of weeks. The rest is just a wait game really to heal and for swelling. More of a nuisance. But the end result is wonderful and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Couldn't be happier with my results and I wish I had done it sooner!!
Hi mommie D that is awesome you are doing so great! After your post I decided to go over and try a few sit ups. Didn't feel so good but I think with practice it will get better. My doctor really didn't give me a time restraint on doing sit ups so I was just going to wait the most conservative amount of time I have seen, 6 months, just to be safe. When I do a crunch I feel like I have lost all of my muscle strength I had before surgery and I feel like my stomach is ripping in half. Did yours feel that way and if so when did that feeling go away? Also I lift weights and pull downs still hurt my stomach and so do tri cep pull downs. I never even knew I used my stomach for those. It seems to be any weight lifting with the push down motion. I should just try my classes again soon, you give me hope!
Keep your head up! It takes time for sure. I am 5 1/2 months out and I am seeing a huge improvement. Everyone is different and it can take up to a year for final results. My muscle repair area is still sensitive no way can I do a sit up yet, or maybe I am just to scared to ;-) the area around my belly button seemed more swollen but it is going down now too. I think it was just scar tissue that is now softening and flattening out. Be patient, believe me I know it is hard. 2 weeks post op isn't long after surgery and this is a big one. Keep your head up!!;-)
