Wait until you can lie on your stomach again for the first time! I finally did last night and I could NOT believe how comfortable I was.
I wish I could have done the local - my doctor really didn't want to do it that way because he was unsure as to how much (if any) scar tissue there would be. As it turned out, I really didn't have much.
Anyway, glad you are pleased so far!
My doctor offered this option, too. If you are undecided, it's not a bad idea. Especially since you won't have to pay for anesthesiologist or OR time. She'll do it under local and you can live with it for a few days and see if you are happy.
Apparently, some women really freak out at the results when they have their implants removed. My doctor cautioned me extensively that I might be 'shocked' or 'unprepared' for how I look. And I've read online that some women feel really depressed. That hasn't been my experience, but I can imagine that some women might feel really weird not having their same figure.
It's been 2 1/2 weeks since my explant and I am still absolutely thrilled with the results and can't believe how much more comfortable I am on a daily basis.
Good luck. I'll be very interested to hear what you decide on this very personal decision.
Yeah, it's super scary to have the removed since you don't know how they will look. And when google the subject, that picture from the FDA website of those just awfully deformed breasts appear and it freaks you out!
Sorry I couldn't reply yesterday - my computer was down.
So tomorrow will be one week from surgery and I go in for a follow-up. Apparently most of the sutures are dissolvable, but a couple will need to be taken out.
I am so surprised at 2 things mostly:
1. How little pain I've had and easy the recovery has been, and
2. How familiar my old body looks to me. It's like getting back my body from when I was 28!
Other questions answered:
Yes, I had gross and obvious rippling on the outer sides of both breasts.
I haven't had any children. But I am quite a bit older than you and I had them for almost 20 years, so gravity had it's time to work on me.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you need a lift, you could wait for 6 months and see how they look?

I think it's too early to really determine what they will look like. My doctor told me to wait a year! Glad you are not having any pain...
