Last September was my third time under the knife. I am 8 months post opp and really regretting I didn't seek out a PS specializing n revision rhino! In 4 months I will have to cross that bridge as I am very dissatisfied at this point!
Hi Amanda
Although I went for my follow up in January, he decided not to do the steroid injection at that time. I regret I didn't insist as I HATE my nose. I have no confidence it is going to change enough to suit me. It is so huge--same size from the top to the tip-tip is even bigger. Weirdly shaped. I don't know what to do. I am 44 years old--this was a 2nd rhino for me--first one was when I was 18. The end result was 2 knots on each side and couldn't breathe well. Waited 26 years because I knew it was going to be tough...and $7000 later I think I hate it even more? I am at a loss--don't think I can handle another surgery, can't afford another surgery, and have no confidence it is repairable at this point.
Sorry this has turned into a gripe session--just so mentally painful to be in this place.
Hi AM22--we corresponded several months ago...I, too had rhinoplasty on 9/14/11. My story is so similar to yours--it's unreal. I still have swelling (so the doctor says). My nose is still very large to me. My bridge is very wide along with the tip. My PS says it's still going down--but is considering a steriod injection in January if it's still large (that will be 4 months post-op). My frustration is that I had a 'weird' nose before (a knot on each side and tip was large)--very disappointing to spend so much $$ and still dislike my nose. (Btw-I still have a knot-but now on one side-where he placed synthetic material to support my septum)
I agree with everyone--you are so beautiful--you should be happy!
