I am 58 and did very well with my tummy tuck and muscle pair. The surgery was Sept. 28th. My doctor did some lipo in the tummy and I agree the lipo does make recovery more uncomfortable. I got the okay to do sit-ups, crunches, etc.
I am a mother of 8, two grandkids. I am thrilled that I did this for myself.
Best wishes on your surgery!
I am doing very well. Ready to get my exercise routine back. I will next week. Uncomfortable lying on my tummy. It is numb too. Still slight pulling in the center, muscle repair. I would do it again without hesitation. I had a perfect experience with no complications. Patience is the key.
Yes it is good to hear from the September tt's. This has been helpful to hear about all of the experiences on this elective journey. It is still hard to believe my tummy is flat. The first few days are rough. Pain meds important along with patience. My next checkup is this week. Six weeks post op. I am eager to get back to the gym. Swelling is minor. Weaning away from the binder.
I wish you all the best as you prepare for this surgery. Listen to your dr. And don't overdo anything. I have learned much by all that has been shared. Thank you for the best support!
My doc told me the numbness may last for 4months before it is gone. I am 5 weeks post op. I also have the small vertical line and a very smooth scar. It feels so good to wear my jeans with my shirt tucked in. No rolls, muffin top or belly in my way. Sneezing still hurts though. I would do it again because the results are great.
WOOOOHOOOO! Went for my post op today and got the drain tubes out. It was the first time I looked at my bare tummy. WOW! I told my doctor he must be a perfectionist. The stitches are internal and will take a good while to dissolve. The belly buttom, is pretty great. This incision is so thin! Remember, I am 57, 8 babies in my lifetime and so I have lived with this belly for awhile. I can't believe it is gone! I took my first shower today. Felt incredible!
Surgery was a week ago Wednesday. Rest has been key in recovery. I have felt great except for the first 3 days. I could zip and snap my jeans with the tubes and compression binder with padding. So now I am in Spanx and my belly is flat. Very little swelling. The biggest difference is to feel that my "core" is firm and supporting everything. Diastisis repair all the way up the ribcage. Huge difference in the way my innards feel. It is easy to adapt to discomforts over time and forget that you could ever feel any different. I hope that everyone continues to heal well and enjoy the missing baggage. I am so glad I took this leap. The exoderm facelift - the mask is off. Boy was it uncomfortable. My face is red, red red. Improvement in wrinkles, crows feet- gone- fine lines and sun damage- gone. Now it too needs to heal and the collagen production will increase. It should only get better with time. But I will say, it was far more uncomfortable than the TT.
Thank you for your support during this process and for sharing all that you have. After seeing your pics I was prepared to see my incision today. Otherwise I would have been hesitant to look until it was healed...I know, not an option. Your willingness to bare all helped me take this step for myself and to feel good about it.
